Re: Greatest demand is for Bionicle -- Yuck! :)

I'd imagine that the Throwbots and RoboRiders weren't extraordinarily successful, but they were successful enough without Lego having made any attempt to promote them that Lego realized they could be extraordinarily successful if they did something (...)   Re: Greatest demand is for Bionicle -- Yuck! :)

For me, Bionicle got me looking at Technic as a whole again: not for the sets, but for parts to make better er mechanical men ( I wouldn't call them any form of Bionicle and I might get flamed if I call them Mechs ). I'm not the least bit interested (...) (23 years ago, 17-Oct-01, to lugnet.general, lugnet.technic.bionicle)

I just posted the site because they're such a good example of why kids would want more than one of each set. These are my Bionicles: (...)   Re: Greatest demand is for Bionicle -- Yuck! :)

(...) Ah, yes! You did the Ultra Throwbots, right? Most excellent. If so you were the reason that I wanted to buy (but never did) two copies of each throwbot. Your combo-bionicles are inspiring as well. So, you're right. And I guess that's one mark (...) (23 years ago, 17-Oct-01, to lugnet.general, lugnet.technic.bionicle)

Re: Greatest demand is for Bionicle -- Yuck! :)

(...) Agreed. The lost cost of the Toa and other sets were very appealing... but the bad guys are way up there. Perhaps that's why there are rumors that 2002 Bionicle series will feature simular-to-Toa price point bad guys. You can't accuse LEGO for (...) Well, I finally got my first Bionicle, other than my sister's three Maku (Village people of Water, right?). And I must say, it's not half bad. It's got fairly good playability, and good parts. I'd do stop motion, but my video cam isn't good at (...) (23 years ago, 17-Oct-01, to lugnet.technic.bionicle)

Re: Suspension for supercar sized Hummer?

(...) Yep. I only wish that Lego made a tire that looks like the old 24x43's but is much larger in diameter. What I would like to see is a tire the same diameter as the power puller's, but "squared off" (like the silver champion's) and with deeper (...)   Re: Greatest demand is for Bionicle -- Yuck! :)

(...) I think the very fact that we have Bionicle today is due to the past success of the Throwbot/Slizers and Roboriders sets. Whenever LEGO has a runaway best-seller (e.g. the Aquanaut sets), they run the idea into the ground trying to replicate (...) (23 years ago, 17-Oct-01, to lugnet.general, lugnet.technic.bionicle)
