  Re: New Tower Crane

100 lb? Seems a bit heavy for a piece of kite string.... ;-) Duq Michael Camilleri <yellow5guy@twmi.rr.com> wrote in message news:GLBIuA.5I9@lugnet.com... (...) (23 years ago, 17-Oct-01, to lugnet.technic)

Re: Suspension for supercar sized Hummer?

(...) Yep. I only wish that Lego made a tire that looks like the old 24x43's but is much larger in diameter. What I would like to see is a tire the same diameter as the power puller's, but "squared off" (like the silver champion's) and with deeper (...)   Re: Greatest demand is for Bionicle -- Yuck! :)

(...) I think the very fact that we have Bionicle today is due to the past success of the Throwbot/Slizers and Roboriders sets. Whenever LEGO has a runaway best-seller (e.g. the Aquanaut sets), they run the idea into the ground trying to replicate (...) (23 years ago, 17-Oct-01, to lugnet.general, lugnet.technic.bionicle)

Re: Greatest demand is for Bionicle -- Yuck! :)

(...) I think you have a good starting point as to why Bionicle is appealing, but the full reason would be 'It's just Bionicle'. It's the flavor of the month. Lego hit the whole marketing shebang perfectly with this idea, though I believe that (...) (23 years ago, 17-Oct-01, to lugnet.general, lugnet.technic.bionicle)

Re: Greatest demand is for Bionicle -- Yuck! :)

Has anyone done a study to determine what is so appealing to the buyers of Bionicle? And I don't mean the AFOLs as much as the rest of the buyers...   Re: Greatest demand is for Bionicle -- Yuck! :)

(...) And Learning Express marks up over retail too! Typically 25% I think (they had 3033 for 25.00). But that's because the individual shop owners are paying more wholesale (to their distributor, I think) than TRU is to LEGO directly. People DO buy (...) (...) No, buy it for the tires! ;-) (...) FLIMSY?! I have faith in this one: (URL) pounded it up and down with my fist and the suspension held up fine.   Re: Large Crane MOC

(...) It doesn't even come close! Dennis' crane had a maximum height of 4.2 meters and I estimate this new crane to have a maximum height of around 2.7 meters. And there are other Lego cranes that exceed 2.7 m ;-) TJ (23 years ago, 17-Oct-01, to lugnet.loc.nl, lugnet.technic)
