  Re: Wheels

Hello Tobias (...) As far as I can tell, the big ones are in the Powerpuller (8457) and the big 4x4 (8466) these wheels are about 10 centimeters in diameter... greetings Maico Arts (23 years ago, 29-Aug-01, to lugnet.technic)

  Wheels

I have a few questions regarding different types of wheels. I'd like four *big* ballon tyres, not small like those you get in the Police Buggy or the Exploration Mars set. 1. Are the ballon tyres in the Wheel Pack (5219, I think it was) of the big (...) (23 years ago, 29-Aug-01, to lugnet.technic)

  Re: New Tower Crane

(...) Awesome crane! As for string, I've been using a special fishing line I discovered. Unfortunately I'm not a fisherman so I can't describe what its for but I can tell you what it looks like. Its a black braided thread, much like lego string. Its (...) (23 years ago, 29-Aug-01, to lugnet.technic)

  Re: 8466 4 wheel steering?

(...) I would recommend it, for sure, for the new parts (the springs are unique too, as they are stiffer than the grey/black ones, in the same way as 8458's yellow springs are), and the chunky, robust design, but the one thing that disappoints me is (...)   Re: TLG Article in "Fast Company".

(...) I just read this article. People can find it on the web here: (URL) was a very good treatment about what Lego has to do to keep up with the times. Many of the themes that we complain about here are found in this article. They spent a great (...)   Re: 8466 4 wheel steering?

(...) That's just the kind of challenges I like! Perhaps I should try to grab one of the 8466 sets. On the other hand, I kinda like making small vehicles nowadays. BTW, can I ask one more question on the 8466 setup? One problem with the 8880 setup (...) (23 years ago, 29-Aug-01, to lugnet.technic)

My pellet guns on Brickshelf finally.

(URL) of the pictures can be found here, (URL) for the movies of the guns firing. Unfortunately I forgot to make one of the p-86 before I broke it down, and it was the most powerful gun! oh well, More pics will be added soon, The pics I do have (...)   Re: 8480 landing gear

(...) I seem to recall I had to adjust the meshing of some bevel gears to get it just right, but if you line them up just like it shows on page 37 (step 23), it should work fine. Also, you were asking about the correction sheet - in fact it's really (...) (23 years ago, 29-Aug-01, to lugnet.technic)

  Re: 8480 landing gear

(...) I'm sure it goes like clockwork - certainly I noticed nothing amiss when I built it, although admittedly this was some time ago and my memory may be at fault. One thing I did notice was that the large bevel gears in the gearbox responsible for (...) (23 years ago, 29-Aug-01, to lugnet.technic)

  8480 landing gear

I now have my shuttle completely built, and it was a blast building it (and now playing with it)! I'm wondering, though, if I have the landing gear built correctly. The gear works, but it's very stiff, and when trying to retract it, it doesn't (...) (23 years ago, 29-Aug-01, to lugnet.technic)

  8480 corrective instruction sheet

I remember reading at some point in the past that there was a sheet of corrections for building the 8480 Space Shuttle. I find myself in the middle of putting it together, don't have such a sheet, and am wondering if there's anything about the (...) (23 years ago, 28-Aug-01, to lugnet.technic)

Re: Is the last prophecy changing?

Good point. Another thing could be that they planned out the story awhile ago, but have had a ton of red herings in there to confuse things. That thing does seem to have a regular set of legs, I went back last night to study it for a bit. I am (...) (23 years ago, 28-Aug-01, to lugnet.technic.bionicle)

  Re: Shock absorbers

(...) I own several dozen of these and can confirm that they are without a doubt MegaBloks parts, and not actually a rip-off, either. Dave! (23 years ago, 28-Aug-01, to lugnet.technic)

  Re: New Tower Crane

(...) Tempting us with talk of a new crane, but leaving us to only imagine what it looks like or what it's configuration might be :-). Steve to the rescue, I have a Demag link in my favourite's so it was easy to find. Pics: (URL) (23 years ago, 28-Aug-01, to lugnet.technic)

(...) Mine either! Speaking of cranes (again) I finally got around to updating my links page. Check out the crane links just in case you haven't seen any of these. I've linked to Dennis Bosman's Brickshelf gallery on which he's added many pictures (...) (23 years ago, 28-Aug-01, to lugnet.technic)

(...) Alas there was one heretic some time ago to whom I had to respond :-) (URL) just been inspired by seeing a Demag AC120 this morning I can say for sure that my crane building days are far from over! Jennifer (23 years ago, 28-Aug-01, to lugnet.technic)

  Re: 8466 4 wheel steering?

(...) I'm guessing that the setup with the three friction pegs gives the wheel some more stability. If they had used only a cross axle, the wheel might have been a bit sloppy. Wheels that are that large probably need something larger than a cross (...) (23 years ago, 28-Aug-01, to lugnet.technic)
