  Re: Rare mask in Article

(...) Hi Michael, I share Your frustration about not knowing, what masks will come and even worse, Which masks are out anyway? My status quo is Your list, because I think, all actual masks have been seen by You or at least xTIAN. But who knows? (...) (24 years ago, 30-Mar-01, to lugnet.technic.bionicle)

  Re: 2001 Model

After "operating" my tow truck for a few minutes, I noticed a few similar limitations. My mods included: -adding a second pneumatic piston to raise/lower the lifting frame. -better steering (tighter turning radius). -stronger crane arm / motorized (...)   Re: Ideas for new sets?

Steve said... (...) I would suggest you've answered your own question, we who care about representing 'real' engineering in brick form would rather have a solution which is as close as possible to the real thing (this is why I am attempting to make (...)   Re: 2001 Model

(...) I checked this set out and thought it offered no new functionality, now it has to go on the list, damn. Can you confirm that these 'slow release springs' are new parts and the function of 'door closer' is new? I'll take a look at an 8448 this (...) (24 years ago, 30-Mar-01, to lugnet.technic)

  Re: 2001 Model

(...) Spectacle lift! It took me a moment to get that :-) I built up my tow truck last week, and must confess to trying a similar range of experiments to yourself, with a similar mixed success rate. It would probably work quite well with more (...) (24 years ago, 30-Mar-01, to lugnet.technic)

  Re: In Search of...

The only one I have extra so far is (URL) black and I only have one. After I get through them all (I scored 20 odd Slizers and 10 Roboriders for 3 for a dollar. They had LOTS more but I ran out of cash.) I'll post back. This maybe some time in mid (...) (24 years ago, 30-Mar-01, to lugnet.general, lugnet.technic.slizer)

  Re: 2001 Model

(...) The system really is good, your sometime's, amazed at just how powerful those little cylinders can be. (...) That's a really good point. It's been so long since I built a 'canned model' that I forgot how much fun they can be. I think the last (...) (24 years ago, 30-Mar-01, to lugnet.technic)

  Re: Ideas for new sets?

(...) Why make life difficult for yourself putting brakes in the wheel assembly? It would probably work better if you put a brake on the transmission instead. You would then only need one and it could be put anywhere between the rear dif and the (...) (24 years ago, 30-Mar-01, to lugnet.technic)

  Re: 2001 Model

(...) They're not really pneumetics. They're slow release springs, kind of like on a screen door. You can use one to do the pop-up roop of the convertible version or use both to do the gull wing doors version. (24 years ago, 30-Mar-01, to lugnet.technic)

  Re: 2001 Model

(...) I agree, but my budget (and wife) are glad that the big sets don't come very often. Lego 8448 looks great. I have added it to my wish list. I will have to get on brickbay and ebay and see if I can locate one. I noticed someone said that this (...) (24 years ago, 30-Mar-01, to lugnet.technic)

  Re: 2001 Model

OK...if they create these systems accurately, I may have to eat my words. We will have to stay tuned to find out. I'll keep my fingers crossed. Steven (...) (24 years ago, 30-Mar-01, to lugnet.technic)

  Re: 2001 Model

You surely have pressed the limits of what the pneumatics are capable of. As a new user, I have not had a chance to experiment with the actual capabilities of the system. Great to hear from someone who has. (...) I agree 100%. Legos is about (...) (24 years ago, 30-Mar-01, to lugnet.technic)

  Re: Ideas for new sets?

(...) I've done many of those functions with my McLaren F1 MOC... 1. It uses the white clutch gear for a limited-slip differential. 2. 1st gear acts as the hand brake for now :) . 3. It has inboard brakes for the rear... Couldn't find room for (...) (24 years ago, 30-Mar-01, to lugnet.technic)

  Re: Ideas for new sets?

(...) How come it eats a lot of power? Once it's locked, it's locked... right? After one part of the clutch stops spinning in relation to the other part it's just a (bulky) part of the drive axle, or did you use a more complex implementation with a (...)   Re: Ideas for new sets?

(...) I've done a clutch, but it ate LOTS of power, and didn't work all that well. Brakes would be nice. A hand brake is probably doable in the current supercar (I haven't tried). Foot brakes would need something like flex system to activate. Even (...) (24 years ago, 29-Mar-01, to lugnet.technic)

(...) sets. (...) I assume that by 'Super Car' you mean the new one <set:8448>. The old <set:8880> is a must have and I consider it to be in the top 3 sets of all times. Even the <set:8448> is a great set in my opinion. "basic suspension, engine, (...) (24 years ago, 29-Mar-01, to lugnet.technic)

  Re: 2001 Model

(...) Personally I don't think the Tow Truck is at the same level as the shuttle. If you liked the shuttle I think you must get your hands on <set:8880>. A pure marvel. The <set:8448> has it's merits too. I just wish LEGO wouldn't keep us waiting so (...) (24 years ago, 29-Mar-01, to lugnet.technic)

  Re: 2001 Model

(...) I've recently bought both, second hand, built up, but I must say I'm not impressed with either. Don't get me wrong, the sets are brilliant, for parts. but when I came to play ( I mean operate, 25 year olds don't play)with them I soon lost (...) (24 years ago, 29-Mar-01, to lugnet.technic)
