  Fearing Lego

This may sound a little bit weird, but has anyone ever built anything that they were actually afraid of? I think I have done just that: (URL) Spinning Wheel of Death. BattleBots affectionados might recognize this as an Lego replica of Jim (...) (24 years ago, 16-Mar-01, to lugnet.build, lugnet.technic)

  Re: Pre-1995 strong pieces/attachments

(...) Yeah, I noticed that too. I've actually started (gulp!) distorting those loose 8t gears by resting them on a couple of teth & squeezing - you've gotta becareful no to squeeze too much! Also a few of my 8t have cracked (not the ones I (...) (24 years ago, 16-Mar-01, to lugnet.technic)

  Re: Pre-1995 strong pieces/attachments

(...) I've been having problems with eight tooth gears and short (<6) axles. it seems that in certain combinations, an 8-tooth with slide all along a six- or four-long axle, IOW, no gripping. and then there are those that i can't put on an axle w/o (...)   Re: Event ?

Hi from Germany! I am disappointed too, but I read the reason in message No. 238. LEGO is still fixing the new pages for the Onlinegame. I hope they get it til the end of this week. :-( (24 years ago, 15-Mar-01, to lugnet.technic.bionicle)

  Event ?

According to the astronomy clock on Mata Nui by now a nother event should have happened. But what is it ? I can't spot any difference. Greetings, M. Moolhuysen (24 years ago, 15-Mar-01, to lugnet.technic.bionicle)

RC Tank (was:Re: Fire cannon and projectiles with motor)

Hi, How did you mount the servos for working the switcher in that tank?? I'm curently working on a RC lego technic project and need any ideas I can get. Gary Tobbe Arnesson <tnt@arnesson.nu> wrote in message news:3ab12532.800307...net.com... (...) (24 years ago, 15-Mar-01, to lugnet.technic)

Re: 5223 Wind Up Motor notes

(...) I just got one, too, and had the very same thought. I've been working on my clock for a few days now. I'm want to use a balance wheel instead of a pendulum. I have a balance spring configured using a Lego rubber band and am using one of the (...) (24 years ago, 15-Mar-01, to lugnet.technic)

  Re: Pnematic tubing replacement

Hey Gaurav, did you see the tubing set on S@H for something like $3? it's tubing and four t-joint pieces...since I'm having a hard time finding those t-joint pieces, I went ahead and ordered a couple of them a couple of days ago...comes wiht a (...) (24 years ago, 15-Mar-01, to lugnet.technic)

Re: Fire cannon and projectiles with motor

(...) As I did it then: (URL) had a polarity switch to operate the micromotor and an ordinary RC servo to operate the switch... /Tobbe (24 years ago, 15-Mar-01, to lugnet.technic)

Re: Do Bioncle Masks hide Greedy Marketing?

(...) Thanks! (...) I've read your posts about collecting the masks, and I can tell that they don't have the same tone to them. I enjoy seeing the pictures of all the masks laid out and sorted... it brings back memories. :D (...) That is kind of (...) (24 years ago, 15-Mar-01, to lugnet.technic.bionicle, lugnet.dear-lego)

  Re: LEGO Bionicle special offer

  LEGO Bionicle special offer

For those of you who don't know, LEGO is doing an exclusive offer in the U.S. for LEGO club members. The offer is on the back of the March-April issue of Mania Magazine. The offer includes Tahu, Toa of Fire, and Vakama and is priced at $9.99, plus (...) (24 years ago, 15-Mar-01, to lugnet.technic.bionicle)

  Re: Pre-1995 strong pieces/attachments

(...) Yes! In the old days before the black ones appeared, making and bracing large structures with the grey pins was "interesting" as said structures would be prone to an incredible amount of rattle and cumulative flexibility. The black pins really (...) (24 years ago, 15-Mar-01, to lugnet.technic)

  Re: Pre-1995 strong pieces/attachments

(...) They still allow rotation, albeit with some friction. I think the point of the black pegs is that they don't have any slack for movements other than rotation, unlike the grey ones. Jürgen (24 years ago, 15-Mar-01, to lugnet.technic)

  Re: Pre-1995 strong pieces/attachments

Ah, yes ROSCO, I've been a bit of a fool here... (...) Clearly they would have to or you would have to pull them out and replace when you need to move a beam's position! And if they were tight enough to resist any rotation you would never even be (...) (24 years ago, 15-Mar-01, to lugnet.technic)

  Re: Pre-1995 strong pieces/attachments

(...) I agree, I think that is the difference between black & grey. I don't think there's significant difference in friction between "slotted" and "un-slotted" black pins, but they do (both kinds) allow some rotation, just not as much as the grey (...) (24 years ago, 15-Mar-01, to lugnet.technic)

RE: RCX & Cybermaster (VLL comms and MicroScout)

Hi Chris, Do a search for "CM-RCX Comm" thread, in lugnet.robotics :) That's (still) my main current project. It works. It's possible to make a CM and a RCX communicate with each other through "eletric" (or light but I didn't test the input through (...) (24 years ago, 15-Mar-01, to lugnet.technic, lugnet.robotics)

  Re: Pre-1995 strong pieces/attachments

(...) I thought that the whole idea of the introduction of the black pins was to provide this friction. You use a grey pin when you need elements to rotate about them and a black one when rigidity is required. I'm now wondering if I should sort my (...) (24 years ago, 15-Mar-01, to lugnet.technic)
