  Re: Sorting Methods

(...) I think it depends on how you're set up. I have a table with all my storage drawers on it against a wall. The drawers only take up about 10 inches of tables space (10 inches down the entire length of the table). I use the open table space as (...) (23 years ago, 7-May-02, to lugnet.storage)

  Re: Sorting Methods

(...) Interesting question. If I construe it correctly here is how I do it. 1 - use a double bed or a large area of floor (both are likely to induce 'lego-leg' after a while but I haven't found a better way.) 2 - Put the entire amount to be sorted (...) (23 years ago, 7-May-02, to lugnet.storage)

  Sorting Methods

I have started pulling apart a bunch of my complete (and not so complete) models and reintegrating the pieces back into my collection. My question is, How do most people begin sorting a pile of random pieces? I'm not talking about color vs. shape, (...) (23 years ago, 7-May-02, to lugnet.storage)

  Re: Rebel Blockade Runner . . . Holy Moly ! !

(...) I've thought about checking those out. I have a feeling they would be too small to be useful. The ideal sorting tray is about 12"x18" and 2" deep, divided into 6-25 compartments. For some stuff, a larger tray, 15"x25" and 4" deep with 6-10 (...) (23 years ago, 7-May-02, to lugnet.dear-lego, lugnet.storage)

(...) Paul, The trick is to make the other guy store the stuff for you... Any chance you still have my two buckets? -- Hop-Frog (the contrite) (23 years ago, 3-May-02, to lugnet.storage)

Re: Question about larger storage drawers

I read part of that thread, but stopped after people started asking how to subdivide drawers further. It's simple - DON'T. Buy more carts, or more Lego, so that 1x1 plates fill a drawer ;-) (...) -- Tom Stangl ***(URL) Visual FAQ home ***(URL) Bay (...) (23 years ago, 3-May-02, to lugnet.storage)

Re: Question about larger storage drawers

I use Iris carts, myself - (URL) get the 7-drawer (2 large, 3 med, 2 small) from Costco. They just dropped the price to $19.99, I've got to get back there and buy another 5-10 of them. FYI, the med drawers are 1.5 times the height of the small, and (...) (23 years ago, 3-May-02, to lugnet.storage)

Re: Talon's Nest will close in 2 weeks, help me find my floor!

Bachelorhood? I've been married for almost 10 years ;-) My wife was happy to help sort in the beginning, but it wore her down after a while. She can finally understand WHY I stopped sorting small lots as they came in (no room to put them in a sorted (...) (23 years ago, 3-May-02, to lugnet.storage)

Re: Talon's Nest will close in 2 weeks, help me find my floor!

Ah, bachelorhood.... I would like to publicly thank Tom and Frank (via Mike) for posting those pictures. I'm going to show my wife these pictures so she'll see that my collection isn't anywhere near as bas as she thinks it is. In fact, since Tom is (...) Not sure where to post this so lugnet.general it will be. Cross-posting to lugnet.trains because I know a lot of train guys have shipped completed models to train shows.   Glad A+++!

I've found that the little round Gladware containers work best for storing almost any small piece. They can store over 50 minifig heads and they don't pop open too easily! I'll try to get some pics up sometime. Dave. (23 years ago, 30-Apr-02, to lugnet.storage)

  the LEGO Desk Pal

Sorry if this was already reported.. I was surprised to not find it in a search. My Feb 2002 issue of The Toy Book had news from LEGO Writing Systems about this pencil holder thingie. It should have been visible at Toy Fair this year (?). I don't (...) (23 years ago, 28-Apr-02, to lugnet.general, lugnet.storage, lugnet.mediawatch)

Re: Question about larger storage drawers

(...) I change over to small 1-gallon to 1.4-gallon bins, stacked on Ikea wire shelving. It works fairly well. I don't think I have any basic bricks anywhere in drawers anymore! best LFB (23 years ago, 14-Mar-02, to lugnet.storage)

  Question about larger storage drawers

I've finally started to sort my LEGO. I;ve been using a drawer system suimilar to the Akro-Mils Storage Cabinets from a company called Stack-On. I found the cabinets at Home Depot for $10-$15. You can see a picture of them here: (URL) (The light (...) (23 years ago, 14-Mar-02, to lugnet.storage)
