Re: Plano 3700 & Sterilite 66 qt - other recommended combinations?

(...) Actually, Plano makes something like that - at Menards here in the midwest, you can sometimes find large red plastic boxes that hold three of the 3700's & two of the smaller 3450's (which incidently also come in two slightly different forms: (...)   Re: Plano 3700 & Sterilite 66 qt - other recommended combinations?

(...) I use the Plano 3700 (I've noticed that they use this model number for both the 24 and 48 compartment models - odd) boxes too and I have a couple of 58 qt. Sterilite bins. I've never tried putting one in the other, though. What I would like to (...) (20 years ago, 12-Jan-05, to lugnet.storage)

Plano 3700 & Sterilite 66 qt - other recommended combinations?

Just a FYI, for those of us on the small end of the sort/store spectrum. I just discovered that 12 of the Plano 3700 boxes will stack very nicely in a Sterilite 66 qt storage bin. I can now get much (most? I said it was small) of my sorted (...) (20 years ago, 12-Jan-05, to lugnet.storage)

Re: Project Building and Sorting Table

(...) Matt Chiles ordered a case of the clear plastic mostly rectangular bins you often see packaged mushrooms in (I'm pretty sure I've seen other produce in them also). The bins are about 4"x5" or so (there are also larger bins). Another cheap (...) (20 years ago, 6-Jan-05, to lugnet.storage)

Re: Cleaned up the LEGO room

Good deal JT, we as long time fans have our work cut out for us. LOL, it 'builds' up. Pun intended, hrrr hrrr. I have spent the last 3 months sorting every day. I had a couple of sorting parties where friends came over and helped. I begged for help (...) (20 years ago, 3-Jan-05, to lugnet.storage)

  Cleaned up the LEGO room

This weekend I finally got around to cleaning up my LEGO room, it has been such a disaster for the past few months and has made it hard to do any building. (URL) not a very large room and I have to share part of it with my wife's "scrap (...) (20 years ago, 3-Jan-05, to lugnet.storage)

  My New LSF

On my last trip to Franklin, NC I did get around to actually measuring the bunk house on my girlfriends property. It is 20'x 11' with 10' ceiling. More than enough room for my entire collection and the building tables. The outside of the bunk house (...) (20 years ago, 1-Jan-05, to lugnet.storage)

Re: Project Building and Sorting Table

(...) I use a couple different setups when sorting--primarily because I'm experimenting with stuff. For 2 bucks, I found a 4 pack of square gladware containers at Wal-Mart some time ago. Lar has seen them, and I recall he commented that he liked the (...) (20 years ago, 29-Dec-04, to lugnet.storage, FTX)

SNIP (...) I like those! Thanks. Ed (20 years ago, 29-Dec-04, to lugnet.storage, FTX)

Re: Project Building and Sorting Table

(...) I've used the small square-ish foam takeout hinged lid containers used to hold sandwiches and such as an alternative to those tippy bowls. Just lay out the container flat to get two conjoined ~5" square sorting bins, or seperate them at the (...) (20 years ago, 29-Dec-04, to lugnet.storage, FTX)

Re: Project Building and Sorting Table

(...) The only time I do is when I drop something and it hits the edge of a bowl... then it tends to catapult things all over the room. Not Pretty. Don't worry, Larry, it's not like I'm eyeing those sorting trays you lent me or anything... =) Peter (20 years ago, 29-Dec-04, to lugnet.storage, FTX)

Re: Project Building and Sorting Table

(...) Peter, Nice job on the table. I too noticed that your sorting space could be much better utilized. I use these for storing model rocket parts during assembly. They are relatively cheap, $1 for 3 small or 2 large. I get them from a local (...) (20 years ago, 29-Dec-04, to lugnet.storage, FTX)

Re: Project Building and Sorting Table

(...) I use the Meijer workalike versions of these and have been quite pleased. I like that they are sturdy enough to be stackable and to hold a bit of weight. They are spendier but they seem worth it. Do you have trouble with those bowls tipping (...) (20 years ago, 29-Dec-04, to lugnet.storage, FTX)

Re: Project Building and Sorting Table

(...) Yeah, they're great on those two criteria, but being round, they're an awful use of space. Doesn't anyone make square disposable bowls?!? I know there are some GladWare options but those are pricier and still somewhat rounded. I'm thinking (...) (20 years ago, 29-Dec-04, to lugnet.storage, FTX)

Re: Project Building and Sorting Table

(...) Looks nice and useful. I'm going to have to build some display and build tables for my lego room soon, so it's nice to see what others have done to get ideas. I had forgotten that you use those dixie bowls for sorting. I like them because (...) (20 years ago, 29-Dec-04, to lugnet.storage, FTX)

Re: Project Building and Sorting Table

(...) Clearly the optimum table size and construction depends a lot on how you sort and store you LEGO and what you build. Although we once again have lots of our standard club tables in handy sizes like 30 x 60 and 30 x 30 so we can set up as many (...) (20 years ago, 29-Dec-04, to lugnet.storage, FTX)

  Project Building and Sorting Table

Off and on for the past week I've been building a table for my Lego room: (URL) info: The total table area is 48"x48". There's a building area of 30"x40" with area on two sides of it for either part sorting or for easy availability of parts being (...)   Re: A Monumental Task

(...) When I moved from Santa Cruz to Mountain View (about 40 miles) three years ago, my collection was much smaller - three Iris drawer units about 5 feet tall, plus some 3033 tubs. I taped the Iris drawers shut with Scotch tape and made sure to (...) (20 years ago, 25-Dec-04, to lugnet.storage)

  Re: My new LEGO Room

(...) I still very much enjoy those photos of your appartment, where it looked darn near difficult to breathe, let alone enjoy some play time with your bricks. ;) Ben M. (20 years ago, 17-Dec-04, to lugnet.storage)
