More likely (sorry, I don't have any references), the Tantive IV was
registered as an Alderaanian ship. It would make sense for a Senator from
Alderaan to use one of her home planet's ships. Also, Alderaan was a member
of the Empire, but was also supporting the Rebel Alliance. So a ship could
be identified as a 'rebel ship' when it was legally an 'Alderaanian ship'.
