Re: who's feelin the black pack?

(...) Yeah, I'm aware of that set- in fact, I just referred someone else to it and 215 Red Indians. What I meant wasn't so much that Lego doesn't have the colors available. I meant that as soon as they place one darker toned minifig in, say, a Town (...) (24 years ago, 7-Aug-00, to lugnet.starwars)

Re: who's feelin the black pack?

I may be wrong (please correct me if I am), I haven't seen Empire Strikes Back in a long time, but isn't Dak the gunner of Luke's snowspeeder black? If he was black he didn't get any special treatment on lego's version. Michael (24 years ago, 7-Aug-00, to lugnet.starwars)

Re: who's feelin the black pack?

(...) Perhaps you should have a peeks at these sets: 215 Red Indians 9171 Duplo World People And get back to us. They're both in the Lugnet database. Thanks, eric (24 years ago, 7-Aug-00, to lugnet.starwars)

Re: who's feelin the black pack?

(...) This has probably already been pointed out a few times, and doesn't necessarily apply here because we're talking about minifigs, but I think it's worth noting again that LEGO has for years been selling DUPLO figs in various skin tones: (URL) (...)   Re: who's feelin the black pack?

(...) of (...) I like this last point. I think the people who are bothered the most about this minifig race issue are suffering from a mistaken impression that yellow figs are/were ever meant to accurately represent caucasians. These Barbie (...) (24 years ago, 7-Aug-00, to lugnet.starwars)

Re: who's feelin the black pack?

(...) Because toys should not be politicized. I have a feeling you are just someone bored who is trolling, but I'll bite because I believe this is an important issue. If you are arguing an ideology, take it all the way. What is your ultimate (...) (24 years ago, 7-Aug-00, to lugnet.starwars)

Re: who's feelin the black pack?

In lugnet.starwars, Karim Nassar writes: <snip> (...) to (...) I would also think that other problems would arise, besides the is there the "proper" quantity. But what about actual "roles" in the sets. I think some groups would get upset if say a (...) (24 years ago, 7-Aug-00, to lugnet.starwars)

  What is it?

Okay, the Naboo Stafighter comes with the starfighter, Annakin, R2D2, two droids and that cart thing. The question is: What is that cart thing? I mean, is it supposed to be something from the movie or what? Ian Rutherford (24 years ago, 7-Aug-00, to lugnet.starwars)

Re: who's feelin the black pack?

(...) I've mostly stayed out of this discussion, but I've got some questions to ask. I'm not generally opposed to the idea of dark "skinned" minifigs (DSM), but I'm going to play devils advocate here for a minute. Lets say that TLG does in fact go (...)   Re: who's feelin the black pack?

(...) I'm all for this. In fact, the first thing I'll do with my second Mace Windu is make a John Shaft- he's one baaaaaaaad MF (minifig). :D Seriously, though, I feel that the "all minifigs are one color" line was fine, up until the point at which (...) Don't you mean, Trade Federation landing craft? The Empire ain't been formed yet in Ep. 1 ;^) ~Mark (24 years ago, 7-Aug-00, to lugnet.starwars)

  Re: Droid Transport?

(...) Just as a sidenote, the pictures in Popular Mechanics were the same one that appeared in the "Episode I: Incredible Cross-Sections" book, if you want to get bigger versions of them. eric (24 years ago, 7-Aug-00, to lugnet.starwars)

Re: who's feelin the black pack?

(...) Well then, should "white" folks view the release of a yellow skinned Luke, Han, etc. as a slap in the face? I have never, ever seen a yellow person (except for the time I had a VERY bad fever and became jaundiced). How dare they portray the (...) (24 years ago, 7-Aug-00, to lugnet.starwars)

  Re: Droid Transport?

(...) The thing is a repulsorlift sled with a little front control deck for a battle droid driver, and a back freight space for one droid rack, the kind that used in MTTs. There is a picture on Episode 1 version of Incredible Cross Sections book (...) (24 years ago, 10-Apr-00, to lugnet.starwars)

Re: who's feelin the black pack?

O.k., O.k., I agree, poor chice of politicians to name on my part. But why is it so hard to convince the lugnet community of the politicization of toys? If lego toys are as some say, no more than toys, somebody needs to clarify for me why they (...) (24 years ago, 7-Aug-00, to lugnet.starwars)

  Re: 2001 Set info

Well, here we go again. I've never complained about scale. I understand that the proportions of the minifig make this kind of a moot point. The XWing, Snowspeeder, TIE, Y-wing, Speeder Bikes, etc. were all good sets. I think Lego did an excellent (...) (24 years ago, 7-Aug-00, to lugnet.general, lugnet.starwars)

Re: who's feelin the black pack?

(...) Would that be a slap in the face with a WHITE glove. All those people would love this cause, it puts them back in the spotlight. Without controversy they have no jobs. Yes it is true, Lego is just a toy. That is why Orientals are NOT upset (...) (24 years ago, 6-Aug-00, to lugnet.starwars)

  Re: 2001 Set info

(...) I am not familiar with Jorge so I do not know the type of person he is. I can tell you one thing, I do not care if he made it up. It was just an opinion on my part. Telling me I owe someone an apology for calling his bluff is stupid. Whether (...) (24 years ago, 6-Aug-00, to lugnet.general, lugnet.starwars)
