Now my basic stock fighter
http://www.fortunecity.com/tattooine/sputnik/86/fang.html
versus an X-wing would go like this.  Fang comes to a dead stop.  X-wing • fires
at Fang while pilot laughs for an hour at the pretty colors bouncing off his
ship.  Fang pilot gets bored and activates his Xlaxer node defence system. A
beam fires from the node and the X-wing is incinerated instantly.  The pilot
makes a mental note that he didn't even need his offensive Xlaxer cannons.
Now picture captial ship defences verses a huge fighter.

That really shows nothing about your strategy/theories on fighter
characteristics.  It just boasts about some silly technology (which I at least
don't understand). ;^)

I guess I did fail to illistrate my point.  Well for starters I should
have explained this. I have used this "technology" since I was 8, though
I explain it better now.  Xlaxer nodes are similiar in function to Star Trek
phasers while Xlaxer cannons are similiar in function to Star Wars blasters.
The the damage/power output is greatly increased over either Star Wars or Star
Trek weapons.  Because the fighter's shielding and armor is designed against
Xlaxer weapons an X-wing really can't harm it.  What my point of the whole
thing was though, is the size of the ship which I really failed to explain.

All Galactic Confederation capital ships have Xlaxer nodes as defence against
fighters and torpedos.  (D-tron Protectorate (the bad guys) and Confederation
torpedos have gyro-guidance systems.  This allows the torpedo to take a highly
random and eratic flight.  Instead of flying straight for a target the torpedo
would move up, down, and side to side much like an evading fighter.)  Well a
target that is evading the size of a torpedo only has a 20percent chance of
being hit.  A fighter such as the FL-430 Fang has about a 35 percent chance of
being hit.  Assuming and X-wing is equal technology because of its size it
would have an 85percent (the whole broad side of a barn thing) chance of being
hit.  Of course if anything is flying in a straight line it has a 99.999percent
chance of being hit.  That is why a ship as long as an X-wing is bulked up and
made into a Space-grade corvette.  Corvettes provide torpedo and Turbo-xlaxer
node support to the fighters.  The corvettes, due to their large but still
relatively small size and garunteed to get hit status, are designed to take
heavey punishment.

What are you saying, a little fighter with minimal armor of yours can defeat a
larger fighter with more armor and firepower?

Well I explained the armor situation above. It should be noted that just the
Xlaxer nodes give a Fang a huge advantage over ships lacking a similar
defensive weapon.

I guess what I'm trying to ask is truthfully, what's your point?  I'm not • trying
to be mean by asking either... its an honest question.  I just found your post • a
bit silly and besides the discussion. :-)

I agree my original post was a bit silly and never really stated what I wanted
to.  The G.C.S. Phantom shrieker is a space-grade cruiser that is 43 meters
long and 32 meters wide.  Note that is has 64 Xlaxer Nodes and 31 Turbo-Xlaxer
Nodes.  Turbo-Xlaxer nodes have the same acurracy as a Xlaxer Node.  These will
basicly kill a Confederation or Protectorate fighter in one shot.  This is the
single biggest reason I can state against larger fighters.  Once it gets much
larger than a Fang no amount of evading can help it because it is such a large
target.

Now if you don't have Xlaxer nodes of an equivelent Techonolgy in your
Legoverse the the whole point is irrelevant.  It sure would be boring if we all
did things the same way.  At the same time it would be boring if some of us
did Not do things the same way to compare and contrast.  This is what makes
Lego great.  Everyone could build the same fighter but it will always have
minor differnces based on the creater's design methods.  I was not trying to
convert anyone. I was simply tring to explain why I do not build huge fighters
and consequently do not care much for them.
