While I generally did not care for either Blacktron line mainly because the
color scheme represented "the bad guys", I still think the BTII ships where some
of the coolest, most futuristic looking designs Lego ever made. Especially 6891
and 6887. Imagine being a kid and getting 6891 for Christmas. How many
alternate models could you make? I haven't seen a set as cool or flexible.
I like Exploriens for the color motiff and the cool pieces/ possibilities, not
necessarily the initial designs.
The UFO's have cool pieces with lots of possibilities if you get rid of the
gaudy printing.
Classic space seems rather crude/ simplistic to me. You can tell Lego was new
at the Space idea.
You can sure see the evolution of the space line by the increasing complexity
and sleeker designs as they got better at them.
Wish I had Gregs verbal imagination. I might feel the same if I only made the
box versions.
