   Hi all,

Well, as promised I’ve finally got around to finishing and photographing my latest moc.

It’s a small freighter used primarily on the Earth/Moon run.

I deliberately built this incorporating several .space no-no’s:
  • It’s boxy. I tried to make it a reasonably cool box though.
  • It’s black, although I hope you find the photographs clear enough
  • No cool new parts in clever usage. It’s all pretty basic stuff.
At least it’s got retractable landing gear, and the boy loves playing with the ramps.

For the eagle-eyed, yes Jon’s Bison was certainly an influence.

Comments and criticism are welcome. Smack, non-sequitors and tangential ramblings are purely optional.

Cheers,

Allister

Well, it is somewhat Bisonesque as you indicate, but it does stand on its own...its own spindly legs. It has a pleasant collision of Mack truck, earthmover, architect’s-house-on-stilts, Hercules (the plane) and sheer playability. The contrast of the panel colour with the rest of the ship articulates the design very well. It’s well greebled with a clear sense of greebles where they should be and not where they shouldn’t. There is the sense that the black panels could slide together (I know they couldn’t as built) or there used to be more, which echos Bram’s F-38 Impulse in a way.

It’s great to see a cockpit crammed full of computers and an engine room crammed with black hoses and such. All in all, a very well thought out and well executed MOC. I do wonder if it is compatible with the container standard currently under discussion...but that’s just an idle thought.

Those black walls are of course crying out for some ‘paint’ ;-) I don’t really see how it fits the P-38 theme though... ;-P

Peace and ramblin’ on,

Professor Whateverly
