    Candiru —Mark Sandlin
Hi everyone, About two months ago, I built this MOC with Joel Kuester. I have been holding it until fleebnork.com debut, but my server is lame and won't allow the website code to work. So I'm just going to post here so you guys can check it out. (...) (21 years ago, 16-May-03, to lugnet.space) !!

        Re: Candiru —Anne Carasik
Hi Mark, Nice job. I really like the organic bird look of it :) -Anne (...) (21 years ago, 16-May-03, to lugnet.space)

        Re: Candiru —Austin Little
Mark, I really love this ship. I have been awaiting you next MOC with a gleam in my eye! From what I can see, the color scheme is really great. I especially like the shape! It looks to me like it's some kind of dinosaur-thing-a-ma-bob, with the (...) (21 years ago, 16-May-03, to lugnet.space)

         Re: Candiru —Mark Sandlin
(...) You know, if you just change the number in the link to "02" and "03" etc. you can view the rest of the images. Thanks for the compliments ~Grand Admiral (21 years ago, 17-May-03, to lugnet.space)

        Re: Candiru —John R. Beck
Mark, It amazes me the depth of talent displayed so many models by so many builders. Very awesome. How did you manage to get it to stay upright with such weight in the front? John (...) (21 years ago, 17-May-03, to lugnet.space)

         Re: Candiru —Jordan D. Greer
(...) It's a simple matter of keeping the center of mass over the support base, in this case, the legs. Mark likely experimented to accomplish this, it's only a quaint matter of geometry and masses anyhow. (21 years ago, 17-May-03, to lugnet.space)

         Re: Candiru —Mark Sandlin
(...) Thanks John. It's a simple matter of balance, really. The rear of the model is heavier than the front, and the feet are pretty long, so it stays upright. ~Grand Admiral (21 years ago, 17-May-03, to lugnet.space)

        Re: Candiru —Chris Giddens
Oh Grand one, Great googily greebly! This is cool as all get out. It's amazing what happens when space minds meld. (we needs to get joel some brick... and make him build) Anyway, what a fast lookin ship, and I can just see it spreadin' the smack (...) (21 years ago, 17-May-03, to lugnet.space)

        Re: Candiru —Jeff Szklennik
(...) Very cool; kinda like a Klingon Bird of Prey mixed with a kiwi bird. Good color scheme, great greeblies & nice use of balance & only 2 landing gear. Jeff Jeff (...) (21 years ago, 17-May-03, to lugnet.space)

        Re: Candiru —John Henry Kruer
Wow. I really agree that it looks kinda like a super-deformed dinosaur Bird-of-Prey kiwi. :) The shape is very... unique. I love the look of that long ramp going down the belly. And the interior looks great, too, although I would like to of seen (...) (21 years ago, 17-May-03, to lugnet.space)

        Re: Candiru —Andrew Saada
(...) Grand Admiral & Joe, This ship is so cool. The design is unique and the color scheme is one I really like. Greeblie goodness all around. I like how it appears that the Candiru is about to "pounce" on anything in front of it (that or just peck (...) (21 years ago, 17-May-03, to lugnet.space)

        Re: Candiru —Sylvia Tresto
Wow Mark! I can't say anything that hasn't been said yet (bird-shape, cool colors and scary look) but I just had to salute you, Grand Admiral! Love, Sylvi (...) (21 years ago, 17-May-03, to lugnet.space)

         Re: Candiru —Mark Sandlin
(...) Thanks to you and everyone else for all the compliments. I enjoyed working on this with Joel. It was truly a collaborative effort, as we worked on different parts of the ship at the same time and gradually put them together. I'll let you guys (...)          Re: Candiru —Joel Kuester
(...) Yeah! That was my first collaborative build, and it was very enjoyable... I look forward to the next time I can do that. It was interesting to see how we approach our designs differently, and it was fun to decide who would tackle what section (...) (21 years ago, 18-May-03, to lugnet.space)

        Re: Candiru —Soren Roberts
Beautiful! A very predatory vessel. I'm always impressed by the number of features you manage to cram in your ships. Time to look into retractable weapons... Take care, Soren (21 years ago, 18-May-03, to lugnet.space)

        Re: Candiru —Paul Baulch
(...) Nice - a cute design that belies its dangerous nature. I feel that it needs more of a tail, though. Lack of a tail makes it look unbalanced to me. So how long were Joel and yourself working on this? Were you building while staying together, or (...) (21 years ago, 19-May-03, to lugnet.space)

         Re: Candiru —Mark Sandlin
(...) Interesting you should say that. My original sketch from which this was built had a bit of a tail on it. Maybe I'll try adding one and see how it looks. (...) Joel came to my house on a Saturday, we built for about 8-10 hours, he crashed at my (...) (21 years ago, 19-May-03, to lugnet.space)

         Re: Candiru —Paul Baulch
(...) Well, it's a bird thing, you know ;-) I very much look forward to seeing the result. Cheers, Paul (21 years ago, 20-May-03, to lugnet.space)

        Re: Candiru —Ryan Rubino
(...) I was particularly intriqued by the tilted cockpit and the overall form. I can't say enough good things about that canted cockpit design! The details are great and the color scheme is nice. I'm curious, did you try leveling out the pilots (...) (21 years ago, 19-May-03, to lugnet.space)

        Re: Candiru —Mark Mueller
Kudos to both of you! My favorite little detail is the hidden belly guns. Question: What is the cargo pod looking thing in the middle here? (URL) most amazing part is that you were able to integrate both of your work into one model. That's the (...) (21 years ago, 19-May-03, to lugnet.space)

        Re: Candiru —Keith Goldman
Well done Mark. Very original. As many have said, the slanted cockpit is very cool. -Keith (21 years ago, 19-May-03, to lugnet.space)

        Re: Candiru —Paul Hartzog
Ah very nice I see some sand green on there :-D like the engines and the various popout thingies but my fave detail is the grilles on the backs of the chairs (being the chair freak that I am) -p (...) (21 years ago, 20-May-03, to lugnet.space)

        Re: Candiru —Gil Shaw
As said in chat Mark, this thing is a beaut.....you and Joel did a foine job. Collaborative builds are a total blast, for all the reasons you've mentioned in this thread. It reminds me of Gatchaman in it's form. One of the things I loved about '70's (...) (21 years ago, 21-May-03, to lugnet.space)

        Re: Candiru —Philip Painter
Fantastic. I love the organic design. I would second trying to design a tail. It does fine without, but I think would add even more "life" to it. It's exciting to see a collaborative build. (21 years ago, 21-May-03, to lugnet.space)
