Re: BUILDER'S BLOCK - AHHHHHHHHH! —John P. Henderson
(...) Why can't you make infinite variation in Space? If anything, I would think Space would be bounded only by your imagination. Arguably Pirates and Castle have certain, albeit not great, limits based on our perspective of the historical or sword (...)         Re: Builder's Block - AHHHHHHHHH! —Richard Parsons
In lugnet.space, folks write of the need to deal with Builder's Block. Some thoughts come to mind of how I have dealt with this in the past: Don't deal with it (caution, this may lead to a new Dark Age) Change scale - build BIGGER stuff (caution, (...)          Re: Builder's Block - AHHHHHHHHH! —William Vale
(...) I completely agree with this - having just broken down and sorted my collection of sets, I found the drawers of coloured bricks quite hard to get to grips with. I used to build space things before my Dark Ages so I thought that'd be a good (...) (22 years ago, 22-Jul-02, to lugnet.space, lugnet.loc.au)

I, too, sort by color. I find it a very effective way of creating a great-looking MOC. Will, I really like the Dropship and the Tug - these designs are so full of detail and thought - just amazing, totally original...and after only two ships! By the (...)      Thanks for the kind comments - much appreciated. (...) That's interesting - I just happened to take the pictures there (a small concrete bench at the bottom of my garden) because it's higher than the lawn/patio and catches the light at the end of (...)      <snip> (...) <snip> (...) Howdy do, I am interjecting a point here, not to argue or point faults, but just to talk, 'cause I'm a big ol' windbag... I hereby do not agree that there are limits, or at the least the limits are the same as Space (...) (22 years ago, 22-Jul-02, to lugnet.space, lugnet.general, lugnet.build)

Re: BUILDER'S BLOCK - AHHHHHHHHH! —John Henry Kruer
(...) But the problem is that for something like, say, a ship, you have a definate idea of how to start, you know what a ship looks like, has in it, etc. But in space, you have to make up a new idea, and proceed along it, which can be difficult. It (...) (22 years ago, 22-Jul-02, to lugnet.space, lugnet.general, lugnet.build)

Re: BUILDER'S BLOCK - AHHHHHHHHH! —John P. Henderson
(...) I think I see your point. Although you shouldn't be discouraged simply because a general idea has been done before, or because some builders here have larger collections with more experience. Nor should you worry too much about the praise (or (...) (22 years ago, 22-Jul-02, to lugnet.space, lugnet.general, lugnet.build)

        Re: Builder's Block —Richard Parsons
(...) Ditto. Just because something has been done before is no reason not to do do it yourself. I still build every Lego Set I get to the instructions, even though *everybody's* already done it. I get a kick out of seeing how I can make it better. (...) (22 years ago, 23-Jul-02, to lugnet.space)
