  Wow..this thing rocks...

(URL) is one awesome SHIP.. Great shape, interesting SNOT work, tons and tons of details, and even some interesting little auxillary craft. These were also really cool: (URL) too bad the picture qualities are so bad, and that this guy doesn't make (...) (22 years ago, 22-Feb-03, to lugnet.space)

Odd Part (Was: Re: Blade Runner Police Spinner)

(...) Well, there are two in the AT-TE kit. I've gotta find a use for mine... Hope that helps. Take care, Soren (22 years ago, 22-Feb-03, to lugnet.space)

  Re: Shark Teaser Pic

Wow. I'll reserve my critique (if I can find anything TO critique) for later. First impressions: Sand green is niiicce. Excellent greebly bits. Mmmmmmm. Overall it reminds me of a Masamune Shirow design, almost biomechanical curves interrupted by (...) (22 years ago, 22-Feb-03, to lugnet.space)

Re: color control question for Mladen

Okay, here's how it works. I first think of what I'm going to build, for example it could be a mecha or spaceship or whathaveyou... Then, I think of the main structural pieces that I will need to make the design "work", e.g. if I'm building a large (...) (22 years ago, 21-Feb-03, to lugnet.space)

  color control question for Mladen

hey Mladen, was looking at this (URL) would like to ask you to explain a little in these 2 ng's about how you approach color control and the color "zoning" that you do on your mocs (regions of color, instead of mixing up various colors like some of (...)   Re: Blade Runner Police Spinner

(...) When you build it this well, accuracy is the least of my concerns. :) I'll reserve my critique for the finished version, but the prototype is very nice, excellent canopy. I've always liked the way you integrate weird Bionicle parts into your (...) (22 years ago, 20-Feb-03, to lugnet.space)

  Re: dark ages

(...) y'know i just found this (URL) i seem to have made a premature assumption about my becoming scarce. lol. and i've got so much work this semester that i was thinking of posting today that i wouldn't be around much for a while. but given the (...) (22 years ago, 21-Feb-03, to lugnet.space)

  Re: Shark Teaser Pic

EXCELLENT!!!!!! This is one seriously cool MOC! I was never a big fan of the sand green color until now. Don't think I have seen such a well balanced use or perfect integration of this color before. Keep up the great work Paul, can't wait to see (...) (22 years ago, 21-Feb-03, to lugnet.space)

Re: Robbie - the latest in mining technology

(...) Just an update... Since people generally tend to respond better to REAL pictures rather than run-of-the-mill renderings, I've uploaded some pics of the real Robbie. After moderation: (URL) (22 years ago, 21-Feb-03, to lugnet.space, lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: Blade Runner Police Spinner

Ridley Scott is the master of mood in BR...the dismal feel of the perceived future is so effectively meshed with the hardboiled det. fiction/ film noir atmosphere. Throw in the Vangelis on the soundtrack, and the thing just drips mood. I remember (...) (22 years ago, 21-Feb-03, to lugnet.space)

  Re: MOC APV Sparrow Hawk

Thanks for the kind words Paul! It's funny that you mention the scale....I had originally intended this to be a small unit, but the size of the cockpit was forced to be larger to use the canopy - the real starting point of the craft. The engines (...) (22 years ago, 21-Feb-03, to lugnet.space)

  Re: MOC APV Sparrow Hawk

Thanks Jeff! I'll do some more shots of the cockpit once it's tweaked a little. Indeed the final product is a product of a personal aesthetic, but suggestions often open up avenues of thought that may have been overlooked before. Besides, the (...) (22 years ago, 21-Feb-03, to lugnet.space)

  Superb!

Paul, um WOW *ahem* Everyone else has already said everything I would say about the design. Beautiful, and I love the anime feel in the arrandement of greeblies. Sand green, aside from being a wonderful color, adds greatly to the militaristic aspect (...) (22 years ago, 20-Feb-03, to lugnet.space)

  Re: Blade Runner Police Spinner

(...) Same here. Although even then I could appreciate it at a purely aesthetic level. The visuals and the music and the mood they create virtually spawned the whole cyberpunk genre. (...) And some. Ever read 'A Scanner Darkly'? (...) I read the (...) (22 years ago, 21-Feb-03, to lugnet.space)

  Re: Blade Runner Police Spinner

(...) My parents never really got it, nor liked it. I don't think most parents, unless they happen to be sci-fi fans, would particularly enjoy BR. It didn't do very well in theaters when it was released, either. (...) I held off on reading certain (...) (22 years ago, 21-Feb-03, to lugnet.space)

  Re: Blade Runner Police Spinner

(...) I saw it in the theaters 20 years ago and was about your age at the time. (does that date me?) To be honest... I didn't really "get it" at the time. It's a pretty deep story, but a good one. I would certainly not recommend it for someone who's (...) (22 years ago, 21-Feb-03, to lugnet.space)
