Technical Specifications
Craft: Intersteller Scout Corps Planetary Survey Ship
Dimensions: Length 14.76m
Width 7.20m
Height 4.68m

(backup/maneuver) gravitic field generator
Armament: single point-defense laser cannon
Defense Systems: standard shielding package
Commission Date: 10.02.2884
Notes: The planetary survey ship is intended for short-term solar system
and planetary surveys and exploration. It is usually launched from a larger
scout vessel or quartered at temporary base.
The ship can support a crew of three comfortably for only 23 days before its
supply of oxygen and comestibles are exhausted. In practice, the cramped
conditions aboard the ship limit the crew to one week excursions from their
central base. Longer missions are reserved for planets with breathable
atmospheres where the crew can get out and explore on foot.
Space onboard is at a premium. Many tools are stored on the outside of the
ship. The cargo hold is inaccessable on the ground; the ship must use its
gravitic drive to hover high enough to allow the crew access underneath the
ship.
The ship is fast, maneuverable, and sturdy but not at all intended for
combat. Its sole laser cannon is more often than not used at minimum power
as a range-finder. The ship is pressure-resistant enough to explore a gas
giant, and does posess some shields for defense against micrometeoroids, but
military-grade weapons would obliterate the ship entirely.

always welcome.

| (...) William, i like the shape that the wings make around the ship and i like the skylit section in the back and i like the little car that comes out, clever idea :-) i do think you could've balanced the 'people' sections with the 'mechanical' (...) (22 years ago, 22-Feb-03, to lugnet.space)
