  Re: IR Problems

(...) tom@tomlohre.com Dear Claude, Thanks for your message. I have delayed in replying to the excellent advice concerning communication with more than one RCX. Last night in a dream I realized that I could just bypass communication placing two push (...) (17 years ago, 13-Apr-07, to lugnet.robotics.rcx)

  some more questions about lnp.

ok, im back again with even more questions. when i created my last program using lnp on an RCX i did a mistake by setting the same port as the one im listening on and the one im sending on. this made me think. what is the reason we use two different (...) (...) Oh Beautiful Hack! Very nice!! (I get the same funny +128 characters that Matt got, but I'm sure you'll get that figured out. :) Say, what's the maximum transmission rate (uncompressed) over IR for an RCX brick? Could we expect an RCX version (...) (25 years ago, 19-Mar-00, to lugnet.off-topic.geek, lugnet.robotics.rcx, lugnet.robotics.tele)

  RE: Extending IR communications

Orient both RCXs so that they are pointing towards the ceiling. Set the RCX transmit power level to high (default is probably low power); there's probably some Lejos function to do this -- all it requires is setting one bit in an I/O register to 1. (...) Even more interesting.... I've also just replaced the IRED I replaced a few hours ago in my RCX :-( This time, I'm putting a limiting resistor between the IREDs in the RCX to keep the current within limits. The following is pure conjecture on my (...) (23 years ago, 26-May-01, to lugnet.robotics.rcx)

An idea concerning the new RC trains and a new RCX

Hi, all, I know this might just be a shot in the blue sky, but anyway: Lego is most propably working on a new RCX system. At the Legofan site, there is a discussion about things that should be in a new RCX, and someone mentioned Bluetooth as a (...)   Re: OO programing in RCX

Thank you, David. Your gode is great! I learned a lot from your quick example, though I prefer Java more. I will encapsulate RCX commands in some utility objects and use them in more higher level objects. What I focus now is make a RF/IR adapter to (...)   legOS Addressing - Packet Handler

Hi All I have a very simple RCX legos program (which I've attached), that I'm having difficulty with. I have compiled legOS with the default host address of 0 (0x00). I am using WinLNP to send data to the RCX (simple short strings), but the RCX will (...) (24 years ago, 11-Aug-00, to lugnet.robotics.rcx.legos)

  Proximity detections in ROBOLAB?

Proximity detections in ROBOLAB? It is possible to use the IR port on the RCX for proximity detection in NQC but I can'y find a way to do the same in ROBOLAB - is there anyone that has done that? You send messages from the RCX and use the (...) (18 years ago, 7-Aug-06, to lugnet.robotics.rcx.robolab)

  Communicatin between NQC and legOS

Hi folks, is it possible to communicate between two RCX, one running NQC, one running legOS ? I have to solve this problem for using a RCX programmed with legOS and the Vision Command camera. The vision command camera software requires an (...) (24 years ago, 20-Sep-00, to lugnet.robotics.rcx)

  RCX 2.0 Difference

I have got both an RCX1.0 and RCX2.0 unit. The RCX2.0 has a much less sensitive IR port. I would use the remote control to send messages and start and stop programs and to trigger motors. With the RCX1.0 the remote could be pointed at the unit and (...) (23 years ago, 7-Aug-01, to lugnet.robotics.rcx)

  IR port Communication

Re: IR header - A Detailed Explanation

Several posts have speculated about the use and necessity of the "header" bytes used by standard RCX messaging. Hopefully this post provides definitive information on the topic.   decoding a message sent by an RCX

yes - have to use messages - there's an app somewhere that allows multiple RCXs to be RCed that was developed for BrickWars I think, multiple games pads on one PC control an RCX each.
