  Re: Problem with IR

(...) This probably isn't it, but if you're using the command line, have you included the -Susb parameter to tell NQC you're using USB? (This will takes ages to post as my email isn't working, so sorry if you have 5 other replies before this one...) (...) (19 years ago, 20-Nov-05, to lugnet.robotics.rcx)

(...) First, put batteries in it and turn it on. It'll beep 'ok'. Then attach a technic 9v motor to port A with a wire and press Run. If the motor spins, the brick has basic sanity, and it's worth your time and money to get a IR tower to program it (...) (19 years ago, 7-Apr-06, to lugnet.robotics.rcx, FTX)

Any news on USB support for linux?

Hi there, Is there any news on the development of support for the USB IR tower under linux? I found a HOWTO on the net by Ryan Simmons which claims to be able to get the tower working using a patch written by Bret Thaeler. (URL) anyone been able to (...)   Re: communication between NXT and RCX!?

(...) The NXT has a new sensor control bus. That allows many ways to interact almost anything you want. From Hear-say i have heared that HiTechnics is building an NXT - IR converter in the size of a NXT sensor.. well, the IR tower is fired when I tested out with different powered hubs. I used 2.0 powered hub, the same symptom occured... the OS crashed in the identical fashion. I just installed the software for Vision Command. VC uses the 2.0 firmware. I have not had any problems with the 2.0 firmware on my RCX 1.0 brick (from the RIS 1.5 set).
