| Matt, I discovered that the IR LED's and detector on my serial tower was located higher than I expected and pointed upward somewhat. | (...) Michael, I tried your programs on Windows and Linux. On Windows 98 the USB tower takes about one second to reply (990 - 1100ms). On Linux it took about 9 seconds as you indicate. | Well. It's a bit strange that under LegOS you "must" work only in "near"/"short range" mode. So I've modified my kernel to work always in "far" or "long range" mode (that works with near too)... | I might be able to help somewhat. I use my PC running FreeBSD to talk to my RCX (RIS 1.5). After much heartache I found that if I used "ecu" as my terminal, it worked.
