| Hi! i have a sub-notebook without any com-ports so i can't use my IR-Tower. But the built in IR is reachable over com5 (btw: i'm working with cygwin). so i changed dll to com5 (export...) but now i get the error(when dll'ing): Error 21: sending (...) | Has anyone else had problems using the IR-Tower with a PowerBook-G3 (WallStreet '98)? I tried for two days and only got 'Problem talking to IR device' messages. | (...) I use the IR tower with a Wallstreet regularly (NQC was developed on my PowerBook), and I haven't had any problems. | No matter if your tower is connected before booting, it's not a PnP device ! What's more, a serial port can safely be added/removed because it's just a text device. On Linux, you can easily test your IR tower : echo 'RCX please show me a sign' (...) (24 years ago, 23-Feb-01, to lugnet.robotics.rcx)

| Well, after months of flaky IR comms between my tower and the RCX, I can finally say that the tower has died. :-( I've forgotten who first suggested it, but using a videocamera to see if the IR led is still functional is brilliant! | The tower must be connected before you boot the computer. Have you tried using the other COM port? If your mouse is using the other port, swap it and try the tower in that port. Remember to reboot. | I just wondered - is it possible to use the ir tower as an irDA-port? I know that it isn't the protocal that the rcx uses, but since the rcx can coummunicate with e.g. a palm ..
