I am trying to interface a serial IR tower RoboLab 2.5.4 B. The serial tower is
connected to com4 via a PCMCIA RS232 1 port card. I can select the com4 port in
"select Com" within RoboLab. "Interrogate RCX" does not work. No green light on
the PCMCIA RS232 1 port card or the IR Tower. I know I have a fresh 9V battery
in the IR Tower and the cable is good for I get a serial printer to run on the
PCMCIA RS232 1 port card.
The program I am trying to run is GPS7.vi. A program developed at Convict
School,http://www.restena.lu/convict/Jeunes/Robo_Soccer/FinalWork.htm
The GPS7.vi has it's own RS232 vi's to communicate with the RCX so once I get
RoboLab to recognize the serial IR Tower I will probably have to add com4 to the
RS232 vi's. I think I do not think I need to use SPIRIT.OCX. Any suggestion
would be greatly appreciated. I am trying to get this incredible complicated
program to run so I can learn LabView and go on to adapt this fascinating
program into another. Convict's RoboSoccer uses two RCX's and a ball on a soccer
playing field that is analyzed by the Vision Camera. The program feeds
information to the RCXs to run the game. I want to adapt the program to look and
then paint in real time. I work as a fine artist and hope to create a
RoboArtist. Thanks a million, I could never do it without you. Tom
