What com port is the tower attached to? By default, NQC assumes com port 1. If you use a different port, you'll need to specify it either with a -S option or by setting the RCX_PORT environment variable. For example, if you are using COM 2, you (...)   Fast data acquistion on PC from RCX ?
 
I want to do fast data acquistion (100 samples/second) continuously with the RCX and transport the data in realtime to a PC. Just so everyone knows, I threw together a compiled version of NQC 2.3 r1 for USB on Win32 last nite, it works. Are you sure the port you IR tower is connected to is really com2? You might try connecting to com1, and then just use lejosfirndl . For me, this works - it tries com1, and then downloads. (...) (23 years ago, 17-May-01, to lugnet.robotics.rcx.java)

Hi!Everyone, I was trying to download the kernel to the RCX but the errors I get are something like this: -When I do ./firmdl3 ../legOS.srec I get the message: ./firmdl3:tower not responding. -When I do ./firmdl3 --tty=usb ../legOS.srec I get: (...) Hello everyone, I recently bought the Robotics Invention Kit 2.0 with the USB IrTower. I own a Mac Powerbook G4 and run Virtual PC 4.02 with the latest additions on my Mac OS 9.1 system. I would love a copy of your USB source! So far I haven't had any luck communicating with the USB tower using my own code, so any help you can give me would be greatly appreciated. Windows - The Lego driver does a pretty good job of making the tower look like a comm port but with a different name (\\.\LEGOTOWER1), although I believe calls to set the baud rate/parity/etc fail. (...) Seems like it behaves like a file, no special magic needed once you have the device driver installed (under Windows). AFAIR from what I saw in the Lejos code the differences to the old tower are slight, that there's no more need to wake it up (...) (23 years ago, 22-Nov-01, to lugnet.robotics.rcx)

The spirit.ocx will not work with the USB tower. All is not lost tho. I am working on a new open source control to replace the spirit.ocx, but it looks like it will be a couple of weeks before I make it available for testing. If you are interested (...) hi John, looks good, but I can't use it yet. The main problem I have is that I can't see my templates. At once I found them, a window 10 pixels win width and 25 pixels in height, and I can't get it bigger. Am I doing something wrong ? Very nice (...)
