| Hi, AFAIK only the following changes need to be made to a COMM-driver to work with USB (Windows only): First of all the Lego-USB-Driver has to be installed (happens automatically when you install the MindStorms/RIS-software). | Great info! USB IR tower sounds good, I want to use my IR tower with my iBook, but I'm too lazy to buy an USB/Parallell port... I'm planning to use MacNQC then, but AFAIK, MacNQC doesn't "know" that there is a USB port on my computer... Or will it (...) (24 years ago, 26-Nov-00, to lugnet.robotics.rcx.nqc)

| Lego Mindstorms told me that USB to Serial converters have not functioned properly. The actual conversation went as, "they (the convertors) don't send correct information to the brick through the IR tower. There are no work arounds." I have been (...) | Hi, I 've seen the new Mindstorms 2.0 at Toys'R'us in Neuss (near Cologne and Duesseldorf). It comes with the new usb ir tower for 489 DM. They also sell the old package 1.5 with the old serial ir tower (no usb!) for 449 DM. I don't know if the (...) (23 years ago, 8-Sep-01, to lugnet.robotics.rcx)

| I'm working on a kernel mode driver for Linux for the IR Tower. Overall from everything I've figured out, this is just a USB Serial device; porting code in win32 from COM1 (Serial interface from old serial one) -> LEGOTOWER1 (The USB Tower device (...) | I want to program mit RCX 2.0 with VB but therefor i need spirit.ocx , but it wasn't on the lego-CD. Could anybody send it to me and will it work the the usb-IR-Tower? | (...) No idea. I think these values are used for accounting, to ensure that all devices together don't exceed available power. But I don't know how well this is implemented. (...) | I have spent the last couple of days compiling and setting up legOS on my 486SX/33 laptop. I am using legOS 0.2.5 which I got from Sourceforge, and binutils 2.11 (i think) and gcc 2.95.3, which I got from the official GNU site. Compiling 2.95.3 took (...)
