  Re: Psion 5mx firmware downloader

  Psion 5mx firmware downloader

I've written a firmware downloader that runs on a Psion 5mx (and probably an older 5, but I haven't tested it). I should note this uses the IR tower connected to teh cable serial port (via lego's cable, psion's cable and a null modem adaptor, (...) (24 years ago, 29-Sep-01, to lugnet.robotics.rcx)

Re: RCX sensor interfaces - diodes

I think the real point here is that it is usually necessary to incorporate a bridge network of six diodes to interface to the RCX sensor inputs. The signalling current must pass through at least two series diodes to get to the RCX terminals - a (...) (24 years ago, 28-Sep-01, to lugnet.robotics.rcx)

The main advantage of the BAT85 is the lower voltage drop (about 0.3 Volt against 0.7 Volt for the 1N4148). (...) (24 years ago, 28-Sep-01, to lugnet.robotics.rcx)

  Gyro Sensor for RCX?

Hi there, I just came across a micro gyroscopic sensor Development Kit on: (URL) device would make a very nice turn and spin sensor for the RCX.   RCX sensor interfaces - diodes

I'm in the middle or working out the circuit for my gray encoder sensor and looking at the various interface schemes. I notice that most examples use 1N4148 diodes, but one site I have visited (but I can't for the life of me remember which :/) (...) (24 years ago, 28-Sep-01, to lugnet.robotics.rcx)

Mass and other spec's for RCX components

Does anyone has measurements for the mass of Mindstorms components (in grams)? I am particularly interested in the mass of the RCX brick (with batteries), the gearmotors, and the motorcycle-style wheels/tires. I am having a remarkably hard time (...) I'm working on a kernel mode driver for Linux for the IR Tower.
