explain the definition of the firmware to kids...

I tried to explain term firmware to middle school age children. The best that I can do without using the technical terms, like embedded software, ROM is this: "Firmware is a set of instructions which must be loaded into the RCX Brick in order for it (...)   power levels clarification

Hi I am curious how the power levels  are being implemented.   I am not talking about the icon level navigation.  How the motor actually adjusts to the different levels setting?  Gear slipping? Thanks in advance... -- Elizabeth (20 years ago, 13-Mar-05, to lugnet.robotics.rcx, lugnet.robotics.rcx.robolab)
