  Re: Compiler errors.

I really don't know what the problem with your compiler is. Maybe it's the wrong one for your programming language or for the board you're using. In the version of IC I program with, the program would look more like the following. Maybe that can (...) (27 years ago, 21-May-97, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

  purchasing IC 3.1?

Is there anywhere I can purchase IC 3.1 via check? I'm not the (un)lucky owner of a credit card, and paying by check would make things a lot easier for me... ---...--- Jeff Keyzer UCSD EE Major jkeyzer@ucsd.edu (URL) (27 years ago, 21-May-97, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

  Compiler errors.

I am still getting a strange compiler error and I can't figure it out. The exact error is: Compiler error! 62 extra bytes left on board stack Sometimes the number of bytes is more and sometimes less.   Re: IR signal

Sounds to me like your LED is just not focused straight ahead. I found that sticking the IR LED in a Radio Shack panel mount LED holder (cat no 276-080a) worked the best for focusing the beam of IR. I had tried soda straws and other things, but the (...) (27 years ago, 21-May-97, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

  6500 Sonar and HandyBoard

Kent, I read your quick explaination of how to connect the Polaroid 6500 sonar board to the HandyBoard, and I have a couple of questions.... Mainly, you mention that the INIT signal plugs into pin 9 of the second motor driver chip socket, and that (...) (27 years ago, 20-May-97, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

Everybody, DMSC is run by a nice guy named Prabal Dutta who posts frequently to this list and who isn't evil and as far as I can tell isn't over his head like some "vendors" in the robotics community have been. Agreed, its a poor way to do business, 'specially for a small business man, I will not place an order with them again. My students, who need these boards to complete senior design projects and graduate are not happy. - Joe C. (...) (27 years ago, 20-May-97, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

Has anyone built this homebrew sonar ranging board?

(URL) a system similiar to the Polaroid 6500, but costs <$10 to build. Has anyone done it? Should I try it and share the results? (of course I should!) w/o the ds1233, the contents of the ram will become corrupted during power-up or power-down of the 6811. an r/c could protect during power-up, but wouldn't reset the 6811 during power down. remember it's still trying to execute code as system (...)   Generic 68HC11 board question-

Howdy- I was wondering about the DS1233 EconoReset thingy- what would happen if it wasn't there and reset was just tied high or through a RC delay to high? Does the DS1233 just add to 'reset stability' or is it important to keep reset from going (...) (27 years ago, 20-May-97, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

  buying Chips

Anyone know where to get a hold of one 6811 microprocessor for around $10? Everything I've seen sofar either wants you to buy in bulk (you have to buy 23 @ $7.11 from Motorolla) or almost $20 for 1 chip. This stinks! Any info would be appreciated. (...)   Re: Handy Board Problem: getting hb back into download mode

(...) Are you holding down the STOP button? With the board powered on, read the voltage at pin 3 of the 6811. When pressing the STOP button, pin 3 should read between zero volts and 0.6v. Releasing the STOP button, you should get 5v. If you get 5v (...) (27 years ago, 19-May-97, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)
