  The HB is alive!

Hooray, my HandyBoard works! My kit from DMSC came in on Friday, and I (a very non-hardware guy) managed to assemble it, thanks to Fred Martin's handy assembly guide. I did run into trouble during step 4.4.2 and 4.4.3 (testing/debugging 'serial line (...) (27 years ago, 12-May-97, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

Re: Accessing 2nd line of display

(...) I think I read somewhere that the display is treated as one 32 character line instead of two 16 character lines. (27 years ago, 12-May-97, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

  Vector 2x almost working...

Thanks to everyone's responses on the first question I posted last week. I almost have it working. :) Heres the latest: I am having problems interfacing the Vector 2x electronic compass with the Handy Board. I have successfully loaded Tom (...)   Board Synchronization Error

Hello all, I am using Interactive C version 3.1 from Newton Research Labs running under Win95. When I try to download code to my HB I will often get the following error: C> load C:\HandyBoard\Intera...bs\hello.c Loading (...) (27 years ago, 11-May-97, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

Looking to purchase Used Handy board

Anybody have a working handy board for sale? I am interested in getting my kids involved and would to keep the costs down. If price is right, including manuals, etc I would mail a check to you. Larry Washburn (Live in Maryland) (27 years ago, 9-May-97, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

  Vector 2x Problems...

I am having trouble using the Vector 2x Compass with my handyboard. I have the compass.asm file and the compass.icb file. I loaded the compass.icb file into the lib_hb.lis file so it would load automatically with IC. When I loaded IC, it said the (...) (27 years ago, 9-May-97, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

Re: Accessing 2nd line of display

I *think* rather than /n if you type /m it should be in the second line....I don't remember which letter it is, nor do I have the robotics books near me. Or you can have however many spaces as there are (10? 15?) cursor blanks and leave off the \n (...) (27 years ago, 8-May-97, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

  Re: RF transmitters

(...) A simple way to get rid of the DC component is to run the data through a scrambler on the TX side, and descrambler on the RX side. This has been done successfully in 9600 baud amateur radio TNC's. 2 or 3 chips on each end of the link is all it (...) (27 years ago, 8-May-97, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

  RF transmitters

(...) We did use 900 Mhz Radio Shack RF headphones (cat # 33-1145), which gave us a reasonable analog transmission (the transmitter took L+R RCA audio in, and the we connected in place of the speaker on the receiver). We could get 9600 baud through (...) (27 years ago, 8-May-97, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

  RE: (no subject)

(...) If anyone can find Proxim RXA-1000 radios (900 Mhz, Direct Sequence Spread Spectrum), I wrote code for a Handyboard to program the synthesizer. Fred Cass, Seems like I remember reading in NUTS and VOLTS, or somewhere, about Randy Sargent and his partners involved in a competiton, using a Radio Shack AM transmitter on their robot.   Accessing 2nd line of display

Howdy, One simple question. Is there a direct way to access the 2nd line of the display. Something like: printf("first line\n"); printf(?????); /* move cursor to second line */ printf("second line\n"); Thanks, Clay Timmons ctimmons@asic.sc.ti.com (27 years ago, 8-May-97, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)
