Actually I have had this happen myself. It is because the logic is
sort of reversed with the P/C and my comp_init and comp_disable.
Try getting things working (i.e. displaying 0's), then from IC type
comp_disable(1);. Then ground the reset pin for a second or so. Then
type comp_init(1);. See if that fixes it.
If it doesn't, double check my diagram. I have heard of a few other
people trying it, no one has written back that everything works out of
the box :-). About a year ago I posted some stuff about LM18200's and
had the pins mixed up :-o. It happens.
If you have a logic probe, see if the clock signal is truely clocking,
and then check to see if data might be coming in on MOSI pin. If this
is happening, and the code still isn't woking, you might reload it
again.

(27 years ago, 12-May-97, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)
