Re: Working motorized focus for Vision Command

(...) No problem. The VC camera is a repacked Logitech. You can get a free quickcam SDK from the Logitech homepage. With that, you can program the camera under Windows. If you want to use Linux, things get a bit more complicated. You could use (...) (23 years ago, 18-Dec-02, to lugnet.robotics)

Working motorized focus for Vision Command

I have always thought that LEGO should have built the Vision Command camera housing such that the focus could be motorized. I know I'm not the only one ...   Re: Working motorized focus for Vision Command

But how to I "weave" the SDK and the algorithms IN VC++? I am only wondering if this idea of an autofocusing lego cam is feasible. One day I may learn enough VC++ to be able to acomplish this project :-) I'm glad to know there is hope! Timothy (...) (23 years ago, 18-Dec-02, to lugnet.robotics)

WSH & Spirit.ocx (used to be firmware update)

I've been meaning to make a web page about a recent experiement of mine. I never get around to it so I figure I ought to just post it now. I was wondering if one could use VBScript to program an RCX via spirit.ocx. So I tried it. And it works great. (...) (24 years ago, 1-Jan-02, to lugnet.robotics)

Thanks for replying! I was thinking of the same procedure. But to help with the varried depth problem, a small part of the viewed area could be selected to be the focusing point. So overall, it must be possible, right? Timothy (...) (23 years ago, 18-Dec-02, to lugnet.robotics)

Vision Command on XP and 2000 instructions... pending update

Hello everyone, I'm working on updating the instruction pages for Vision Command installation on XP and 2K. What I would like to include is a small FAQ and list any issues people may have encountered. A couple weeks ago, I did a fresh install of 2K (...) (23 years ago, 4-Dec-02, to lugnet.robotics)

I was wondering if anybody would improve the power focus for the Lego camera. You have accomplished this very well. I especially like your tilt drive. Sticking that 40 tooth gear without glue is super. Congratulations! Bob Fay (URL) Haye" (...) (23 years ago, 13-Dec-02, to lugnet.robotics)

These are exellent ideas, I was originally trying to support 20+ teams like a tournament. only a few (eight is plenty)cars would be on the track at one time.   RE: Tempted in buying my first Mindstorms invention kit - 1.5 vs 2.0 ?

The major differences between RIS 1.5 and 2.0 are the RIS software and the IR Tower. The software upgrade from RIS 1.5 to 2.0 is $19.99 (#3805) from LEGO's website. A USB IR Tower can be purchased from pldstore.com (W979783) for $29.00. There was no (...) (23 years ago, 16-Dec-02, to lugnet.robotics)
