I think the best solution is to use NO gears. Without the additional friction of the gears and axles through beams, the motors are surprisingly powerful. I have had very good experience with direct drive robots. I suggest that you experiment with (...) (24 years ago, 13-Mar-01, to lugnet.robotics)

David (and all), I don't blame lego for the problem. But I have my computer so tweaked (mostly to run varying simulations) that sometimes new software can through it out of wack. Are you running an AMD Processor on your TX5 ? I found some obscure references that say the logitech software and the LEGO(R) stuff won't run on certain K6's. Hi Chris, Do a search for "CM-RCX Comm" thread, in lugnet.robotics :) That's (still) my main current project. It works. It's possible to make a CM and a RCX communicate with each other through "eletric" (or light but I didn't test the input through (...) (24 years ago, 15-Mar-01, to lugnet.technic, lugnet.robotics)
