Re: Can the touch sensor be used as a momentary switch? (without RCX)

(...) I've been thinking about this. It would be great to use it as a switch but I haven't found the logic in it yet. I've used some trial and error to try to find the correct wire positioning but I think I'll have to bring out my multimeter and (...) (25 years ago, 27-Dec-00, to lugnet.robotics, lugnet.technic)

Re: Can the touch sensor be used as a momentary switch? (without RCX)

(...) Yes you can ! It isn't anything else but a momentary switch ! You have to connect your wire to one of the two pins on the right and one of the two pins on the left. (Or connect your wire to the holes of the touch sensor - there are two little (...) (25 years ago, 27-Dec-00, to lugnet.robotics, lugnet.technic)

Can the touch sensor be used as a momentary switch? (without RCX)

I never bothered picking up a Mindstorms set, as I have enough trouble finding time for more traditional building and I know I wouldn't get good use from the RCX. So I don't have a touch sensor of my own. But I'm wondering if it can be used for (...) (25 years ago, 27-Dec-00, to lugnet.robotics, lugnet.technic)

  RCX games.

Someone asked about games requiring 2 RCX's - I don't have one - but here is my humble submission of a game for *one* RCX that's a lot of fun for the children. Extending it to work with two RCX's (or in my case, an RCX and 3 scouts) will be left as (...) (25 years ago, 27-Dec-00, to lugnet.robotics)

  ROBOLAB for non PowerPC macs?

I just purchased ROBOLAB from Pitsco/Dacta. It appears to run on a PowerPC only. I've seen Lego robot demos that go way back. Is there a non PowerPC version of ROBOLAB? --Robert (25 years ago, 27-Dec-00, to lugnet.robotics)

  2 motors 4 drive axles

I have devised a method to use two motors to drive 4 output shafts, in either a forward or backward direction. One motor drives the output shaft, while the other selects which shaft is driven. I have a rough mlcad file of the test bed device, which (...) (25 years ago, 27-Dec-00, to lugnet.robotics)

Re: Need games for 2 RCX's

(...) You could do what I do: fight them! Right now I have an RCX powered bot with lifting arm ready to go against a Scout/Microscout powered bot with a rotating pike. It is fun! And a lot better than fighting with Slizers or Cyberslam. If you only (...) (25 years ago, 26-Dec-00, to lugnet.robotics)

The holiday has brought a mate for my original RCX, and we are seeking things to do with the two, using messages or whatever.   RE: Battery Eliminator

(...) Hart, The battery eliminator is generally used for low current appliances like transistor radios. It will not have enough power to drive a motor at full capacity.   Battery Eliminator

All, I got tried of always changing batteries so I purchased a 9V Battery Eliminator from Radio Shack (273-1552) and connected it to a 9V battery box by soldering on 9v battery leads that snap on the 9V Battery Eliminator. I used a volt meter to (...) (25 years ago, 26-Dec-00, to lugnet.robotics)

  Re: Newbie questions

(...) It really depends on what you want your robot to do. A robot that needs raw speed over smooth ground will probably want some nice wide, grippy wheels - but a robot that needs to run on rougher terrain might need larger wheels. If you need (...) (25 years ago, 26-Dec-00, to lugnet.robotics)

  Newbie questions

Hello! I've just gotten an RIS 1.5 set for Christmas, and was wondering what sort of drive would be best to use for my first major robot (I've completed all those in the constructopedia). Also, what do you recommend to do program-wise? Should I (...) (25 years ago, 25-Dec-00, to lugnet.robotics)

Re: i need help locating parts please help

Hi. I don't know where you can find the whole suspension set but it seens that most pieces are very common to technic models, except for the shock absorbers and the steering pieces. You can find 1 shock absorber in set 8251 (sonic cycle). It may (...) (25 years ago, 25-Dec-00, to lugnet.robotics)
