The question is: can you use the sensor, without an RCX, as a momentary
switch to turn on devices?  I'd like to wire it between a battery box and a
motor (or light) and have it close the circuit.  Is this possible to do if I
position the wires just right?

Yes you can ! It isn't anything else but a momentary switch !
You have to connect your wire to one of the two pins on the right and one of
the two pins on the left. (Or connect your wire to the holes of the touch
sensor - there are two little holes between the pins)

I never bothered picking up a Mindstorms set, as I have enough trouble finding time for more traditional building and I know I wouldn't get good use from the RCX. So I don't have a touch sensor of my own. But I'm wondering if it can be used for (...) (24 years ago, 27-Dec-00, to lugnet.robotics, lugnet.technic)
