Read Receipt requested from "Chris" messages

Just about every time I read a message from "Chris" in this newsgroup, my browser asks if I want to send a reply indicating I received the message. I have some problems with this.   External power supply ?

RE: HELP, please! USB tower problems

Until you try the IR tower on another computer (that is not identical to yours), you have no way of knowing if the tower is the problem is in the USB device or in the USB chipset.
