  Need to compare

Hello everybody, For my university, we must construct a bot with LEGO Mindstorms. This bot has to be able to climb a step, to ride above a (little) whole and to have left and right wheels at different height. In fact, he might be able to go (...) (23 years ago, 28-Sep-02, to lugnet.robotics)

Re: some more questions about lnp.

duh... guess i was kinda wrong here.. IR is in reality a frequency defined from A to B. any messages sent within this spectre is said to be IR messages. so in theory sending an IR message closer to A than B from one RCX. and at the same time sending (...)   Re: Watch Dog Timer on the H8 - Working!

Well, after browsing through the H8 reference another, oh 20 (?), times; and some messing around; it is now working. Basically, I had declared the Control Status Register as an 8 bit value. Since this is a special register (8 bit) that requires a 16 (...) (23 years ago, 28-Sep-02, to lugnet.robotics.rcx)

  Re: Following the Line Follower

(...) Hi Steve, I tried your suggestion to improve on the single-sensor line follower. Well, actually I just used the left light sensor on my 2-sensor bot and a standard single-sensor line following program. Like you said, the bot is now able to (...) (23 years ago, 28-Sep-02, to lugnet.robotics)

Watch Dog Timer on the H8

Has anyone been able to make use of the Watch Dog Timer on the RCX? The H8 documentation seems to spell out the workings quite well. BrickOS (LegOS) has minimal support (a vector is declared for both NMI and overflow) and pbForth files list the WDT (...)   Re: WebCam & Linux

Thank you for your response, Jürgen! (...) I believe I also have Linux kernel version 2.4.19 (# kernelversion => 2.4), and I tried to use both xawtv and quickcam-tt's testquickcam app. Both responded with that they were unable to open 'video0' (or (...)   absolute reckoning, all lego solution?

after reading all the posts i did break down and get a spybot: gigamesh so far fairly impressed due to the fiberoptics pieces, the new gears and the idea of a tri-star wheel without a tri-star wheel. but on to my point. the spybotics controllers (...) (23 years ago, 27-Sep-02, to lugnet.robotics)

  some more questions about lnp.

ok, im back again with even more questions. when i created my last program using lnp on an RCX i did a mistake by setting the same port as the one im listening on and the one im sending on. this made me think. what is the reason we use two different (...) From the Internet Scout project.. Robotics Education Project (URL) Robotics Education Project is intended to raise children's interest in robotics and promote it as a possible career choice. The Web site highlights many applications of robots, such (...) (23 years ago, 27-Sep-02, to lugnet.robotics)

  Re: Following the Line Follower

It might be worth trying to increase the area that the light sensor is seeing by putting some kind of a lens in front of it. If the sensor could see (say) a roughly circular region 3 centimeters across then numbers you'd read between the 'white' and (...) (23 years ago, 27-Sep-02, to lugnet.robotics)

  Update for DJGPP version

Here is an update for my (slow) progress for creating a DJGPP compatible or port of brickOS. At this time I am solely focused on getting a cross compiler built and putting off other issues (such as tty comms, see (URL) I have tried three methods to (...)   Re: Following the Line Follower

(...) You can improve the single sensor program considerably by having it go straight when it sees an intermediate value, which is what it would see when it's right on the edge. So, you have two cutoffs, LOW and HIGH. If light value is less than (...) (23 years ago, 27-Sep-02, to lugnet.robotics)

(...) Actually, I've entered the last couple events, but I have not yet made the 2000 mile trip to Seattle! (I'm sure it's farther from Singapore) Last time, I boxed up a couple LEGO robots and shipped them out there. The time before, I just sent a (...) (23 years ago, 27-Sep-02, to lugnet.robotics)

  WebCam & Linux

Hi! Unfortunately I haven't yet been successful in installing the right kind of driver to use my Logitec Quickcam Express (little ball, the old type) or my Lego cam under Red Hat Linux 7.1 (up2date ;) ).
