after reading all the posts i did break down and get a spybot: gigamesh
so far fairly impressed due to the fiberoptics pieces, the new gears and the
idea of a tri-star wheel without a tri-star wheel.
but on to my point.
the spybotics controllers have a setting to become a beacon, i am wondering
if each beacon has a unique signature; because it would be a simple matter
to to create a hood of sorts to focus the IR to a horizontal range and use
three beacons for dead reckoning.
sorry haven't been around in a while but the new job has been keeping me
really busy. and yes i am still going to model the new differential but i
don't think that it is going to be useful... :)

p.s. at 66.00 $USD including shipping, the 8466 is SO TOTALLY worth it
