Hello, I decided to scrape my machine today and when I tried to reinstall legos I ran into a problem compling the cross compiler under cygwin. Someone has a site with a video of a robot they made. In the video, you can see the two IR LED's blink. The site owner made a comment about what the blinking was caused from. Unfortunately, I don't remember the site address... I think the site had (...) (23 years ago, 14-May-02, to lugnet.robotics)

Typical remote control IRs like the RCX system are usually in the 870 - 950 nm range, just below visible red. In general, what's the difference between the IR "signal" that the tower and RCX use to communicate and the IR energy used in thermal imaging? Is it just a matter of frequency? If the RCX was pointed at an IR camera, what what would it see? -- Dan (...) (23 years ago, 13-May-02, to lugnet.robotics)

2 ways that have worked for me, both using the long range IR mode: 1) Point the RCX's IR Port at the ceiling and your IR Transmitter/ reciever unit at the ceiling and bounce the signals off your ceiling. Hi, I'm just getting started using mindstorm, and I'm having problems setting up everything to start with NQC. (...) What might be doable and best is a documented bus extension (a card plug-in) slot. This could be taken to the extreme by making a cpu unit that just has power (plug-in option of course) and memory (expandable of course) and maybe the IR or (...)
