National Toy Designing Festival for learning Technologies

Dear all, To some this mail may look out of place. But to others it would be a great chance to participate in the only toy designing festival of the country.   power source

I am using a mindstorms 1.5 (although it says "rcx 1.0" on the rcx. This model does not have a port to connect an external powersupply. Most of my projects do not involve portability/motion of the rcx so using a transformer would be fine to me. Has (...) (23 years ago, 12-Feb-02, to lugnet.robotics)

  Re: Zero Power Tower

hi John, the circuit looks very good, and far more easy (and understandable) then the circuit from Lego (cracked by yourself ;-) I'm using your modification of the Lego IR-tower with great pleasure. The normal range (without batteries) is about 60 (...) (23 years ago, 12-Feb-02, to lugnet.robotics)

  Connecting RX to Handyboard

Hi all, I'd like to build a radio controlled robot and I wish to connect a radio receiver normally used for model airplanes to the Handyboard so it can receive the commands I send from the transmitter, check for sensor and then activate servos that (...)   Re: Lost my IR Tower

Mathias (...) Three people replied to an earlier posting of mine to say they would host it. I've sent it to them. (My web site has nothing to do with Lego so it would be pointless for me to host it.) No doubt they'll announce here where it's (...) (23 years ago, 12-Feb-02, to lugnet.robotics)

Re: RFC: Creation of Version 0.2.6

(...) Basically four things: 1) Getting a sourceforge account and having me designate the person a maintainer. 2) Using sourceforge CVS to maintain the canonical CVS tree for legOS; this is basically very typical CVS stuff- committing the incoming (...)   Re: RFC: Creation of Version 0.2.6

(...) For me, BrickNix is good. But it sounds very far away from legOS. I think I like robOS more. It looks and sounds like legOS. So my list is: 1 - robOS 2 - BrickNix I don't have a number 3 favorite. Did LEGO say anything about their feelings (...) (23 years ago, 12-Feb-02, to lugnet.robotics.rcx.legos)

Re: RFC: Creation of Version 0.2.6

I'm rather familiar with those pages :) Really, legOS is basically Mindstorms specific. Porting it elsewhere would be basically not worthwhile. And trust me, Markus has asked about legOS. Honestly, if that article had never been written, this never (...) (23 years ago, 12-Feb-02, to lugnet.robotics.rcx.legos)

  Zero Power Tower

I have uploaded the schematic for the battery-less power design to brickshelf. (URL) has been some interest in the past, and I wonder if this handy design might fit the needs of a number of recent posters who've indicated that their Mindstorms (...) (23 years ago, 12-Feb-02, to lugnet.robotics)

  Re: Power to RCX

There is a difference between a voltage regulator (which limits the maximum voltage applied to a circuit) and a rectifier (which turns AC into pulsed DC - to be smothed out by a capacitor - it also ensures that you can't connect a DC power source (...)
