hi John,

the circuit looks very good, and far more easy (and understandable) then the
circuit from Lego (cracked by yourself ;-)
I'm using your modification of the Lego IR-tower with great pleasure. The normal
range (without batteries) is about 60 inches !!

I guess it's possible to extend the range of your new design by lowering the value
of R6 and by adding more IR diodes in series. For instance my computer can deliver
about 20 mA from it's serial port.
