I'm rather familiar with those pages :) Really, legOS is basically Mindstorms
specific. Porting it elsewhere would be basically not worthwhile. And trust me,
Markus has asked about legOS. Honestly, if that article had never been written,
this never would have come up- Lego, Inc. was aware of legOS for two years
before any type of challenge was made. But that is all water under the bridge.
My personal favorites (so far) are the ones that stick to 'brick' themes and/or
*nix-y themes. I believe BrickNix was suggested at one point... I'd be very
happy with that.
That said, none of this naming stuff matters until there is a release, and I
still don't have time to do one. After some further thought, I can dedicate a
weekend in March or April to rolling a tarball and updating the website, but
someone or a group of people need to /email/ me /all/ relevant patches in diff
-u format against current sourceforge CVS. I cannot go back through the email
lists, or all of the stuff on the various websites (lugnet and sourceforge).
Assuming no one else steps up to maintain it, this procedure (/direct/ email +
diff) is the only way things are going in.
TTYL- back to work-

| (...) For me, BrickNix is good. But it sounds very far away from legOS. I think I like robOS more. It looks and sounds like legOS. So my list is: 1 - robOS 2 - BrickNix I don't have a number 3 favorite. Did LEGO say anything about their feelings (...) (23 years ago, 12-Feb-02, to lugnet.robotics.rcx.legos)
