  RE: Magnetic Levitator

We tried using the Handyboard (which is faster than RCX) and it could not do it. I think the RCX is not fast enough for UNSATBLE control systems such as magnetic levitation, etc. A while back, I proposed the inverted pendulum problem as a challenge, (...)   Re: Magnetic Levitator

(...) I think that it would be possible to use an RCX. I used four op amps in my circuit; the first amplifies the signal coming from the phototransistor, the second differentiates the signal, the third takes the difference of the proportional and (...)   Re: rcx power circuit

(...) Did you check it with a load (such as the RCX) on it? Some power supplies can only regulate the voltage when there is some kind of load. If you just measure the voltage with nothing except a meter on the end, it may well be insanely high but (...) (24 years ago, 7-Dec-01, to lugnet.robotics)

Re: rcx 2.0 without power plug !?

(...) Actually, it was removed in 1.5 - although *some* 1.0 RCX's were shipped in RIS 1.5 sets. That's how I got my RCX 1.0 so I know that's true. (...) No - not unless it's a *VERY* early 1.5. (...) Yes - you definitely can. So far, all versions of (...) (24 years ago, 7-Dec-01, to lugnet.robotics)

  Re: rcx power circuit

(...) The 12 volt AC Train transformers work just fine. I've used one for weeks at a time. Also, I believe Dacta sells the Train Transformer as the RCX power pack. Dean (24 years ago, 6-Dec-01, to lugnet.robotics)

  Pneumatic Hand pump mod

Has anybody attempted to convert the hand pump into a double acting cylinder? Excuse my total ignorance about things pneumatic, it may be a totally silly thought on my part! I have noticed that the hand pump is a lot more commonly available (...) (24 years ago, 6-Dec-01, to lugnet.robotics)

  RE: rcx power circuit

Thanks for all the information. Just a few comments... (...) ... (...) ... (...) I have not verified this myself, but from discussions a long time ago I remember that the power for the motors is not run through the voltage regulator. Which means (...) (24 years ago, 6-Dec-01, to lugnet.robotics)

  Re: rcx power circuit

(...) FYI - I ran my RCX1.0 for a while with a 12V DC adapter. The RCX has "9-12V" printed above the plug. One day I thought I check my DC adapter and found it was actually putting out 18V! Needless to say I stopped using it, but I had been running (...) (24 years ago, 6-Dec-01, to lugnet.robotics)

  rcx power circuit

hi list again! thanks a lot for all your replies to my postings about accu pack and power plugs! since i already got my ordered 1.0 rcx's today (thanks rob!) and now own all versions of the rcx, i disassembled them all to have a look at the power (...) (24 years ago, 6-Dec-01, to lugnet.robotics)

Re: rcx 2.0 without power plug !?

(...) One of the changes to RIS 2.0 is the removal of the AC power jack. (...) Does the RCX in RIS 1.5 have a power adapter? I don't a RIS 1.5 yet (getting one tomorrow!). What I do know is that Lego Dawsonville, GA (706) 216-2800 has the RCX 1.0, (...) (24 years ago, 6-Dec-01, to lugnet.robotics)

-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Hi, Since RIS 1.5 the RCX no longer has the adapter for an external powers source. Lego obviosuly did not change the design of some of the components of the RCX. So in conclusion RIS 1.5 and 2.0 don't (...) (24 years ago, 6-Dec-01, to lugnet.robotics)

rcx 2.0 without power plug !?

<color><param>0100,0...</param>hi guys! i got a brand new r.i.s 2.0 set (cheap :-), and now i'm a little confused: the rcx brick (it says "2.0" on it) has no connector for an external power source. i thought it should!?? however, if i remove the (...) (24 years ago, 6-Dec-01, to lugnet.robotics)

Re: NQC, Mac OS X, and the USB IR Tower.
