Re: Do You Sort on Vacation?

(...) <sigh> I remember when the GMLTC displayed at the Kidvention in LLC way back in '99. I bought 40 tubs from the BIG store. Gave the tubs to some MCs [1] and packed the rest into a rather large box-- thanks to the light-traveling Abner Finley (...)   Re: Do You Sort on Vacation?

I usually have to sort Lego that I've bought while in Orlando just so I can fit it in the car ;-) Though since Bley, the amount of Lego compared to other things bought on vacation pales to the past. Gone are the days of heading home with 50 tubs (...) (19 years ago, 18-Apr-06, to lugnet.general, lugnet.people, lugnet.storage)

Re: Do You Sort on Vacation?

(...) We flew Northwest; the baggage weight limit is 50 pounds each. (...) Well, in my home, having 10,000s of UNSORTED LEGO in the basement is grounds as well.... :-) JOHN (19 years ago, 17-Apr-06, to lugnet.general, lugnet.people, lugnet.storage, FTX)

Re: Do You Sort on Vacation?

(...) 50 pounds? The airlines didn't charge you extra to ship? Or did you drive? I think in some states, sorting Lego on vacation is grounds for divorce... :) --Mike. (19 years ago, 17-Apr-06, to lugnet.general, lugnet.people, lugnet.storage, FTX)

Re: Do You Sort on Vacation?

(...) No, I would have the trays they are to be sorted into with me. Gahd but I'm so sick of sorting. I've devoted scores of hours just trying to sort out about 27 gallons. Partly because I have to juggle stack on trays and such when one category or (...) (19 years ago, 15-Apr-06, to lugnet.general, lugnet.people, lugnet.storage, FTX)

Re: Do You Sort on Vacation?

I'm often forced to sort just to compact the Lego even further than just pulling bags out of tubs/boxes, but that's Lego bought on the vacations. Though since the Bley change, I don't buy anywhere near as much. Now I usually have to compact it to (...) (19 years ago, 14-Apr-06, to lugnet.general, lugnet.people, lugnet.storage)

  Do You Sort on Vacation?

(URL) We do!> If you have a large LEGO collection like we do, and if you like to build A LOT but not clean up after so much (like we do), then you are probably like us in that you have A LOT of unsorted bricks around (like we do).   Re: lowering noise

--SNIP-- (...) I wouldn't. I would find it very offensive to be called a lackey after telling someone off for something very rude (hijacking a singles ad post to make an argument). (...) You have derided the same things as Mark and now defend him, (...) (19 years ago, 8-Apr-06, to lugnet.people, FTX)

(...) I don't find myself wondering it because, as I have said, perceptions of trolling etc. are dependent on personal perception whereas Eric's original breach was not. (...) No, I agree with you that he should not have said "Baghdad Bob" and that it serves no good purpose to call someone a lackey. But of *all* the instances of provocation that have occurred over the years on Lugnet I would say this is very minor, (...) (19 years ago, 8-Apr-06, to lugnet.people, FTX)

  Re: lowering noise

(...) I find this interesting. I obviously have a different opinion of what constitutes flaming. Calling people "lackeys" seems like flaming to me. As does comparing them to "Baghdad Bob". Could you explain to me why this is not flaming? On a (...) (19 years ago, 8-Apr-06, to lugnet.people, FTX)

  Re: lowering noise

(...) I hadn't seen that thread, but having just looked at it I have to agree with Kelly-- Mark was not flaming at all. In the post you cite above I sense Mark's frustration at the reaction he got from his question, which, while perhaps indelicate, (...) (19 years ago, 8-Apr-06, to lugnet.people, FTX)

  Re: lowering noise

(...) Actually, that's not what I consider flaming. The tone was respectful, and seemed to be mostly looking for information. It would be nice if more disagreements were conducted in this type of format. (...) Yes, it does become difficult. That's (...) (19 years ago, 7-Apr-06, to lugnet.people, FTX)
