I believe there was some fuss about it a while ago, and rightly so.

Agreed! And I believe John was the one making a lot of the fuss ;)

Is there something wrong with that?

No.

Good!

Are you mocking John for being happy that
someone else is creating and wanting others to be aware of it so they can be
happy too?

No.

Good again, that's great. However... You snipped the most important part of the
post, the point I was trying to make:

There seem to be some that think that mentioning that something is
worthy of mention or notice is something to belittle or ridicule.
I just don't get that. Seems petty to me to harp on other people
being happy for creators.

Do you deny that there do seem to be some people that seem to think that way?

Do you deny that it's a petty view to take, or that it could be perceived as
petty?

It sure reads like you're mocking him to me.

Well you read it wrong.

K, great! I'm really glad that wasn't your intent this time!

But do you deny that it *could* be read that way? Have you ever mocked anyone in
the past? Have you ever mocked John?

If so, wouldn't it be reasonable to hypothesise that perhaps you were mocking
this time too and evaluate the words on that basis, and if they fit that
interpretation, conclude that you actually were?

And I don't see what it has to do with you anyway.

What does the thread "have to do" with you either? My comment in the thread is
just as valid as yours.
