Just saw this on eBay: (URL) It's a modified lightsabre that actually glows! You can change the color of the light in the base between red and white, and of course, you can put any color sabre on it you want (even comes with a custom white sabre). (...) Has anyone made thier own weight bricks? My thought was to hollow out the bottom of a brick with a dremel, then fill it with BBs. And finally glue a plate across the bottom. Has anyone seen instructions, schematics, plans, rough sketches on napkins, etc. for custom electric LEGO parts? LEGO seems to be getting out of the electronics business, which is a shame IMHO. If you take a transparent rod and roll it around on some fine grit sandpaper for a minute or so, it will make any light you may show through the rod easier to see from the side of the rod. I had hoped it was going to be just a little hiccup, but I had hedged and gather lights/plates/you name it when ever they had them on sale, enough for my plans, but never imagined they would wipe the 'concept of lighting' out, but it sure looks that (...) And I would recommend the following be added to your list as well Electric plates - 5037 that way you can more easily hide things, the wires work but it's hard to sometimes hide them (22 years ago, 11-Aug-04, to lugnet.parts, lugnet.market.buy-sell-trade)

I'm looking to add some simple electronics to my LEGO layouts -- a porch light here, a motorized gizmo there, nothing fancy. I don't want to invest in a train set just yet.
