Ok, last two for the time being (URL) moderation, my whole folder of ideas is here: (URL) (22 years ago, 18-Oct-02, to lugnet.org.us.texlug)

  Re: TEXLUG Logo Contest

(...) With Lar's unsolicited advice in mind, I went back and edited my two logo ideas. First of all, I cleaned up the first two, but still being gif's with transparent backgrounds, they aren't prefect for 'every' color background. If you want to (...)   Re: TEXLUG Logo Contest

(...) Hey, you have some nice logo ideas already. One piece of unsolicited advice: Ask yourself: How will the logo look embroidered on a shirt? Big bold letters go better than lots of small ones. Fewer colors means less setup charges and less cost. (...) (22 years ago, 18-Oct-02, to lugnet.org.us.texlug)

  Re: TEXLUG Logo Contest

(...) I'll tell y'all right now that with only a few submissions gathered, this will be a very tough contest. I'll keep you posted on the status, and put up a page on TEXLUG displaying all logos at once. Thanks Brick Bandit*! TJ *- inside joke ;-) (22 years ago, 18-Oct-02, to lugnet.org.us.texlug)

  Re: TEXLUG Logo Contest

(...) your folder wasn't moderated yet. Anyway, I've seen your logo, and thanks! It's a nice one. I'll be collecting everyone's submissions soon and putting them up on the TEXLUG site. -TJ p.s. Pat- it's good practice NOT to change the subject line (...) (22 years ago, 18-Oct-02, to lugnet.org.us.texlug)

  Re: TEXLUG Logo Contest

They can be shrunk, and they have transparent backgrounds so that they can be used on any background. These were the first two that popped out of my head, if I come up with more I'll post em. (URL) (22 years ago, 18-Oct-02, to lugnet.org.us.texlug)

Unoffical TEXLUG Departments - for Ss and Gs

This is not an attempt to pigeon-hole anyone; in fact, it's not an attempt at anything except perhaps a lame attempt at humor. Now, when it gets right down to it, each of us has a little bit of everything in our collections and can readily make a (...) (22 years ago, 18-Oct-02, to lugnet.org.us.texlug)

  TEXLUG Logo Contest

Howdy, TEXLUG does not have a logo. There isn't a neat, little symbol on the website next to the name, and there probably should be. Therefore I'd like to call upon everyone to participate in creating a logo. There are no set rules, however I have (...) (22 years ago, 17-Oct-02, to lugnet.org.us.texlug)

Re: From Laura: Meeting Pictures and a big thank you

Just do what I did: have a firstborn son with your spouse, get them to work while you stay home and enjoy your second (LEGO) childhood as your kid(s) grow up! I blame my relatively "massive" collection of LEGO and ensuing frenzy for LEGO on my (...) (22 years ago, 17-Oct-02, to lugnet.org.us.texlug)

Re: From Laura: Meeting Pictures and a big thank you

(...) Tim's monorail also survived an attack from a mini-HOG (small Hand Of God). The monorail was sent flying into a deep gorge (off the table) with all minifigs aboard, resulting in a gruesome crash that could be heard and felt for miles. This (...)   Re: Fall 2002 Meeting Wrap-Up

Whoops! Good thing TJ keeps a current list of attendees... I left out Steve and John!! What was I thinking... That's what happens when you post at 0300. Sorry guys... <Addendum> To Son Steve and Father John: For being great all-around help with the (...) (22 years ago, 17-Oct-02, to lugnet.org.us.texlug)

  Fall 2002 Meeting Wrap-Up

I've updated the TEXLUG site with some notes and my images: (URL) a little late in doing this, but there has already been great commentary on the meeting posted here. Thanks everyone! TJ (URL) (22 years ago, 17-Oct-02, to lugnet.org.us.texlug)

From Laura: Meeting Pictures and a big thank you

From Laura Hayden (laurahc69@yahoo.com): I wrote this email Monday, but am having trouble posting it, so TJ offered to send it for me: I have to say that every time we get together I am reminded what a great group we have. Thank y'all for coming and (...) (22 years ago, 17-Oct-02, to lugnet.org.us.texlug)

Re: Perspective of a Burnout -- TEXLUG's Big Train Meeting (Fall 2002)

(...) <SNIPPED for length> Been there, Pat. I've been seriously burned out on LEGO before, but for totally opposite reasons. After building my four dragons, and after finishing my story, respectively. Finishing such massive projects (for me, at (...) (22 years ago, 16-Oct-02, to lugnet.org.us.texlug)

Perspective of a Burnout -- TEXLUG's Big Train Meeting (Fall 2002)

(Apologies to Erik Schroer, whom I called "Eric" in my last post -Pat). Chuff, Chuff. Two parts to this long puppy. PRE-MEETING: Anyway, around August of 2002 I was fearfully in danger of losing interest in LEGO altogether. An unemployed (...) (22 years ago, 16-Oct-02, to lugnet.org.us.texlug)

  Greetings Dedman

Eric, Welcome to TEXLUG. I am surprised that no-one in our group except Laura has introduced themselves. Likely recovering from Saturday and Sunday's shin-dig (Oct 12 and 13). Usually this is a very lively newsgroup. Anyway, in case you haven't (...) (22 years ago, 16-Oct-02, to lugnet.org.us.texlug)

  Re: Hi, I am new

Thank you, Laura, finally someone who spells my name right! You have no idea how many times people have called me Deadman or DeadMan. It is incredibly annoying. I hope to meet you face to face as well. I have no doubt that the TexLUG are a good (...) (22 years ago, 11-Oct-02, to lugnet.org.us.texlug)

Re: Final Reminder: TEXLUG Meeting Oct. 12, 2002

More good news! I have gotten permission to use a refrigerator close to the conference room this weekend, so we won't need to bring ice and coolers, and anything that needs to stay cold, can. See you on Saturday! Laura (...) (22 years ago, 9-Oct-02, to lugnet.org.us.texlug)
