Wondering what spring will bring...

Cheers,

Pat Hough (on deck)

Hi Pat,
Wonderful post!  You have a great way with words!  I'm sorry I didn't get
to make it to the meeting!  I checked out Laura's and Anthony's pics on
brickshelf ("thanks" to both of them for posting them)!  I was afraid I
would regret not going and I DO!  It looked like a great time and I would
have loved to gotten the opportunity to check out some of those great
creations.  What's even worse is that I took vacation from work in order to
go.  Nothing is worse than being on vacation and being sick! <sigh>  "I'm
bummed out about it!"
In response to your comments about losing interest in Lego, I wish to
tell you that it happens to me all the time.  I usually hit spells like that
after a intense building period.  Seems like once I complete a project, I
need some time to recoop.  The larger the project, the more time I need to
energize myself back into building.  I just write it off to the creative
process.  Some spells last longer than others, but they always subside over
time.  Going to meetings and seeing other peoples creations always help to
inspire a renewal of the creative urge (which is another regret I have for
missing out on the fun).  Once in a while, I catch myself thinking that I
should sell off everything and find another way to spend my time.  I've
learned to just ignore those thoughts.  You can't let those things get you
down!  I don't know if everyone goes through these spells, but it wouldn't
surprise me if they did.  Just look at how many went through the "dark ages"
at some point in their life.  That ought to tell you something!
I'm glad that going to the meeting managed to renew your interest and
enthusiasm.  I would hate it if you dropped out of our group!  You are one
of the core members!  We wouldn't know how to act if you didn't show up with
that humongous blue tub of Lego! haha  It's like a tradition! I think we
would all miss you more than you would know!  I know I would!
I look forward to making it to the next meeting and seeing everyone!  I
think we have some great members in our group.  I hope we can come up with a
date far enough in advance so I can take off work if I need to.  I would
also like to have lots of time to work on a creation to add to a group
project.  The sooner we come up with plans for that the better!  The space
idea sounds great to me.  Let's do it!
Enjoyed your post!  I'll be wondering what Spring will bring as well....
Tom

(Apologies to Erik Schroer, whom I called "Eric" in my last post -Pat). Chuff, Chuff. Two parts to this long puppy. PRE-MEETING: Anyway, around August of 2002 I was fearfully in danger of losing interest in LEGO altogether. An unemployed (...) (22 years ago, 16-Oct-02, to lugnet.org.us.texlug)
