  Re: Meeting in March?

(...) I'm still open to either date (17th or 31st) - I agree with Tim about the idea of a shorter meeting with maybe a focus more on organizing than building, etc. - especially if we do go ahead and get something together for the 17th.   Re: Library Display (vs. BrickFest)

If you have items which don't have a lot of interior or operational details, especially if pictures do a good job of showing the item, put those on display at the library, and bring the items which have interior (...)   Re: Library Display (vs. BrickFest)

(...) Something that occurred to me after my previous post is that July is when BrickFest is happening up in No. VA. (...) Either the 17th or the 31st works for me. Since the 17th is next week though and some folks have already said they can't make it then, maybe it would be best to shoot for the 31st to allow more planning time and to ensure more folks can make (...)   Library Display

As some of you know we were asked to do a display at the library in July. The lady from the Library called me the other day and asked if that was still on for us. I told her that I wouldn't know until we had discussed it as a group. She needs an (...) (24 years ago, 10-Mar-01, to lugnet.org.us.richlug)

  Re: Meeting in March?

I guess we had better decide for sure on a day. I know we had discussed a meeting on the 17th. That is a Saturday. I am not sure of the times yet, but if that is not agree able we have dates later in march at the end. My weekend of the 23rd is gone. (...) (24 years ago, 10-Mar-01, to lugnet.org.us.richlug)

  Meeting in March?

Looks like everyone enjoyed themselves at the February get together. Sorry I missed it. And since I did I'm eager for the next one. So, was anyone thinking about trying to do something in March?   Re: Possible April Brikwars (was Re: The meeting was fun)

I agree on the castle bit. A more open defensive position may be better. I bought some troops today for middle ages type combat. I need to get some guns to upgrade them to musket troops if I want to play civil war or napoleonic campaigns. Who is (...) (24 years ago, 2-Mar-01, to lugnet.org.us.richlug)

Re: Possible April Brikwars (was Re: The meeting was fun)

I could bring my castle again, although it may not be the best for Brikwars (no, I'm not talking about durability either!). I may be wrong, but I was thinking that a more wide open keep might be best, both for access and maneuverability (ours, not (...) (24 years ago, 2-Mar-01, to lugnet.org.us.richlug)

Re: Possible April Brikwars (was Re: The meeting was fun)

I like the Castle idea. There could be defenders in the castle and intervening reinforcements outside the castle. There could be many ways to play the game. The middle ages would be a great way to play and it would be a good first game. Did you want (...) (24 years ago, 2-Mar-01, to lugnet.org.us.richlug)

(...) Medieval BrikWars would be a nice change and should solve the too-powerful vehicle problem. I've never had a chance to try out the close combat rules, most of my troops are toast before they can come into range for hand-to-hand fighting. john (24 years ago, 2-Mar-01, to lugnet.org.us.richlug)

Re: Possible April Brikwars (was Re: The meeting was fun)

I think we should keep it simple. Probably like king of the hill or something for the game. We should probably decide on what theme we want. Do we want modern weapons or medieval weapons. It doesn't really matter to me. I don't have much as it is. I (...) (24 years ago, 28-Feb-01, to lugnet.org.us.richlug)
