Re: LRGOAA & MichLUG Joint Meeting?

(...) The fact that there are at least 1/3rd of our members who don't live in the greater Detroit area probably doesn't help a lot with that. (...) Not at all. We have no reason to resent another Michigan based LEGO club, but there's not really any (...) (22 years ago, 27-Mar-04, to lugnet.org.us.lrgoaa, lugnet.org.us.michlug, FTX)

Re: LRGOAA & MichLUG Joint Meeting?

(...) Hi, hi. (...) We are actually LEGO Robotics centric, not LEGO in general. (...) It is odd we haven't met, although I would have to say that this is due to many factors. Not the least of which would be very busy and conflicting schedules. (...) (...) (22 years ago, 26-Mar-04, to lugnet.org.us.lrgoaa, lugnet.org.us.michlug, FTX)

Re: LRGOAA & MichLUG Joint Meeting?

(...) Hmm, I'd be tempted, but alas I already have a show to do that weekend. I'll keep an eye on that page though. Jason Spears | (URL) BrickCentral> | (URL) MichLUG> (22 years ago, 26-Mar-04, to lugnet.org.us.lrgoaa, lugnet.org.us.michlug, FTX)

Re: LRGOAA & MichLUG Joint Meeting?

(...) Well, I can't speak for anyone in Ann Arbor, but I will say the next event: (URL) on April 17th, and anyone is welcome to attend. Steve (22 years ago, 26-Mar-04, to lugnet.org.us.lrgoaa, lugnet.org.us.michlug, FTX)

  LRGOAA & MichLUG Joint Meeting?

Howdy all LRGOAA & MichLUG members, Seeing as how LRGOAA is a LEGO centric club in Michigan and MichLUG is a LEGO centric club in Michigan, it seemed odd (to me) that we have never met. I'd be keen to try and organize a joint meeting. I ran this by (...) (22 years ago, 26-Mar-04, to lugnet.org.us.lrgoaa, lugnet.org.us.michlug, FTX)

  Robolympics

As several of you know, I spent last weekend at Robolympics, in San Francisco... (URL) was a lot of fun. I got to see some combat robots in action (aka Battle Bots), and I took a shot at some non-combat events. I ended up taking seven robots to (...) (22 years ago, 26-Mar-04, to lugnet.org.us.lrgoaa)

  Re: new sensors...

(...) I got both sensors red (cheaper). I don't think I love Spybots too much, but I use them because I have them. I got the first one at BrickFest (on sale, 40% off) and the other I won at the last sumo event. I like to try to use them for every (...) (22 years ago, 19-Mar-04, to lugnet.org.us.lrgoaa)

  Re: new sensors...

(...) Which colors did you select, and why? I'm trying to decide on if there are any other sensors I might be interested in. (...) As a potential Spybot convert... what is it you like so much about them? Their cost (relative to the RCX)? Their (...) (22 years ago, 18-Mar-04, to lugnet.org.us.lrgoaa)

  Re: new sensors...

(...) If you're just doing simple line following, they won't work much better than standard light sensors. They are less sensitive to external light, but they are also a little harder to use. Two things to keep in mind: 1) The mounting should be (...) (22 years ago, 17-Mar-04, to lugnet.org.us.lrgoaa)

  new sensors...

I just received (and payed) an invoice from HiTechnic regarding my order of 2 EOPDs and 1 Ultrasonic sensor. It wasn't a verry good time right now, but... those are good to have. I'll see how good are EOPDs for line following. I have also ordered a (...) (22 years ago, 17-Mar-04, to lugnet.org.us.lrgoaa)

  24tooth forum archive now on-line!

After a bit of work, I finally got our old forum on-line in a static archive format. Take a look at: (URL) and let me know what you think. I hope to be able to make it searchable in the near future, as well as bringing our new forum system on-line. (...) (22 years ago, 10-Mar-04, to lugnet.org.us.lrgoaa, FTX)

  Re: Trash Day event information

(...) Sorry, I moved all of the images. To see the trash pad prototype (URL) here>, to see the trach can prototype (URL) here>, and to see the road plate compared to the test pad, (URL) click here>. Also, I have been updating the rules some this (...) (22 years ago, 10-Mar-04, to lugnet.org.us.lrgoaa, FTX)

  Re: Trash Day event information

(...) I was thinking that maybe the rules should allow the builder to place the cans however they like as long as they are on the pads. This way if a design requires the axle based handles to be on the sides rather than the front, the builder could (...) (22 years ago, 6-Mar-04, to lugnet.org.us.lrgoaa, FTX)

  Re: Trash Day event information

(...) I was thinking if there is a way to change the position of the top handle to be oriented not left-right but front-rear. And yes, the landing pad should be at least 1 stud wider. I will bring my first robot to the meeting and we'll talk more (...) (22 years ago, 5-Mar-04, to lugnet.org.us.lrgoaa, FTX)

  Trash Day event information

I figured we needed a thread specific to the topic :) (...) Okay, so I was wrong about the shoulders being 8 studs each, they are 6 each (6+6+20 = 32). Also, I have updated 24tooth to have what information is available for this event (it will get (...) (22 years ago, 4-Mar-04, to lugnet.org.us.lrgoaa, FTX)

  Max-picking LIDAR

After the NEIRG games this past weekend, Jona asked me for the details on how I did proximity detection, and in case my findings might be interesting I'm posting them here. After trying all the other methods described in this forum, I still wasn't (...) (22 years ago, 4-Mar-04, to lugnet.org.us.lrgoaa, lugnet.robotics)

  Re: Science Central

(...) Some, but I haven't dug through them yet either (just got back from a short vacation). I spent more time talking and photographing. (...) Well, that I might be able to arrange, as I've not even unpacked from NEIRG as yet. But, honestly, it (...) (22 years ago, 4-Mar-04, to lugnet.org.us.lrgoaa)

  Re: Test post

(...) Thank you. Trellis was where I put most of my effort, & I was very happy it performed as well as it did. (...) Thanks again, but A-mazing was Steve's 'bot <grin>.   Re: Science Central

(...) Steve, that (and the BFB) were some of the highlights of this for me. Wonderful design, I just wish I could have looked at it more (or played it - what a wonderful crowd). (...) And solutions... Jona, I really liked (loved!) how you started (...) (22 years ago, 3-Mar-04, to lugnet.org.us.lrgoaa)
