The newsgroup's been quiet lately, so I got to thinking.  Beyond the • GenCon
lineup, what are the plans for GLUG?

I don't have a lot to add right now beyond what has been said in the other
replies.  Just want to say I'm still here and still interested in the • group,
despite me not going to GenCon.

Don't forget, after GenCon, we should expect to make a presense at • BrickFest
in August...

This is the situation that I hope will bear fruit. Having several people
preping and running games in different locales to build up our player base
and recognition. I have a whisper thin outside shot to make BF, but have the
time blocked off for other conventions this year. My best hope is that next
year everyone can get together at a BW, BF or NWBC.

One subject I wouldn't mind seeing some discussion on is a website for • GLUG.

- some way for members to locate other Lego gamers in their area, making
organizing games a lot easier>
A registry of Lego gamers and their locations/contacts would be great.

- game-specific news and discussion boards

I believe that Lugnet's newserver/storage/search features are among the • best
I have seen.  I think a GLUG site could just have a link to this Lugnet
group, as many of the other LUGs do.  This will also keep all discussion • in
one place.

- some kind of file area where people could share their game systems

This would be very cool.  Although if file space is limited, I would be • just
as happy to see links to such files on other sites.

Extensive links similiar to the ones on Frank's site would be great. I waste
considerable amounts of time surfing around lego gaming sites.

- links to gaming resources on the web

But of course.  :)

It looks like www.glug.com and all its variants have already been • claimed,
how about gamelug.com?

Or some-such-thing .org would work (perhaps even be better).  These things
costy money though.  We might want to decide if we need a Charter and what
the details of money management are for the group.

Cheers,
-Hendo

(...) That's great to hear James! Why don't you start compiling a list of game related links that are valid. Can we mirror stuff with out permission for archival purposes? My understanding is that when it is impossible to contact appropriate (...) (21 years ago, 21-Mar-03, to lugnet.org.glug)
