O.K Smarty pants, Then what size of Spade Dril bit should I have bought to
make ladder holes for my 1/2 inch pipe? (Cuz 1/2 inch was wrong.... DOH!

cause 1/2" is the measurement of the INSIDE of the copper pipe.   the
thickness of the copper plus the inside of the 1/2" hole makes it a 5/8"
outside diameter.

and i don't care what Martin says,

:)

i still think the wood shrinks.  geesh, who shaves lumber????
