BTW the reason softwood lumber is a smaller size than what it really is,
is because the lumber starts its life as a 1x2 (or whatever) then it
DRIES and shrinks.
this is life and the metric system can not stop it. if you want your
1x2 to really be 1" x 2 " then buy oak, or plastic.
